Jordan knock out Saudi Arabia

Doha: Three-time winners and last edition's runners-up Saudi Arabia are knocked out after Jordan pulled off a dream 1-0 win at the Al Rayyan Stadium here yesterday.

Saudi Arabia, who have made it to all five finals in their last five attempts, winning on three occasions, failed to progress out of the group despite changing their coach after the opening defeat.

Nasser Al Johar, the Saudi coach who replaced Portuguese Jose Peseiro three days ago after Syria beat them 2-1, made four changes to the team that started in that match. Mohammad Al Shalhoub, Naif Hazazi, Kamil Al Mousa and Taiseer Al Jassam started the match and got them off to an attacking start.

Ignorant?! Nothing wrong with poor knowledge but doesn't make someone ignorant. It was a simple comment... you seem a bit sensitive about the topic; You got sacked from there recently? Who would want you anyway with a job and interests listed as terrorism... Don't see any humour in that! that's justified immaturity :)

and then they will cancel his sponsorhip and put a no entry stamp on his passport so he cannot even get back to the very place he called home while he worked in Saudi Arabia

What kind of nonsense idiot would sack a coach during a tournament reacting to one game's result?!

Don’t they have a clue that a change in leadership causes disruptions?! I guess not!

O_o

Saudi displays their rational and produces results accordingly!

No wonder the world laughs at them!

Would it not be better if they changed the whole team including the guys who run it and who I suppose have never kicked a footbal in their whole life instead of just sacking the coach. The coach can only do that much and its for the rest of the team (players and administrators) to do their bit.

Nasser Al Johar is a very experienced and highly respected coach not just in KSA,but across the Arab world. He was recalled during the Asian Cup in 2000 after the Saudis lost their opening match against Japan. He replaced Milan Macala, the man who almost took Bahrain to last year's World Cup finals. The Saudis went on to reach the final of that tournament only to lose to Japan. They will be patient with him.
