Resident Visa Question

Does anyone know how long you can be out of Qatar in order to keep your resident visa?

Do you have to come back to Qatar everything 3/6 months less/more??? and/or be in Qatar for a certain period of months per calendar year / time by which residence card valid.

Will nationality affect what level of discretion will be given by immigration authorities?

thanks

that stipulation is easy for families(females + kids only). For males sponsored by companies they may have to furnish the reason for they being out of the country for more than 6 months. The issue of extension is on their discretion.

You can stay out of the Country for 1 year, provided you pay QR. 500 (not sure if its increased now) to immigration for extending your re-entry. If not it will get cancelled after 6 months.

after 6 mnths, u can extend it upto a year by payin around 500QR ... u dont hav to come to do this, i think ur sponsor has to do it.... but u can only extend it once, meanin maximum time u can b outta the country is 1 year.

I assume six months from the beginning of the visa.

So if the visa is 15/Jan/07 --> 15/Jan/08 and are here until 15/March/08 your visa will be invalid unless you return before 16/Sep/07 otherwise you will not be able fill the six month limitation. Is this presumption correct?

ur resident visa not valid if u leave the country more than 6 mths in a year. In another word, you have to be inside the country minimum period of 6 mths each year to keep your resident visa.

hope that helps.

I think my resident visa says that it's void if I leave the country for 6 months.
