Robbery at Paris Hotel - Qatari family loses money
Guys please be careful
There is this hotel named California Champs - Elysees located in Paris, France. This hotel is situated just opposite to Qatari Embassy in Paris.
Since it's near to Qatari embassy, many Qataries prefer to stay in this hotel. Unfortunately, the entire hotel management are robbers. In july earlier this year, one Qatari family was robbed in the hotel by one of the hotel Tea boy or service guy. He took away and ran off with Qr 90,000 from this Qatari family. When the family complained to the front desk, they were not at all entertaining.
Just the next day, another American couple were robbed $4000 and it was fortunate enough that they could recover $4000 within 2-3 days with the help of American Embassy in paris.
The hotel management traps up those tourist who are on transit visa or on short stay in the hotel. They have duplicate keys to the room and also the safe where u deposit the money.
Another incident was reported last week and again a Qatari family was robbed.
Please share your experiences if you know.
I have attached the hotel name down below.
Its a fake news.
Why would someone carry QR 90K when you need to provide customs declaration for amounts exceeding USD 10K.
He must have lost 900 and wants to claim for 90,000...
fake news
I would never travel overseas with QR 90000 in cash. I would always use Travelers cheques.
Ir is known fact all hotels across the world have duplicate keys to each room. Leaving of so much of cash around in the room was just inviting trouble.
If this story is indeed true, then this family has not taken the necessary precautions at all hence had to go through such a huge loss due to their folly. Hope they learn a lesson from this and may God replace all they lost with better.. Aameen!
you just beat me Fubar.
i was just gonna ask, why are they bringing that cash?
don't they have credit cards?
I have seen that hotel many times but never stayed in it. Thanks God. There are plenty of robbers and pick pockets in Paris. I was pickpocketed in the metro but was able to catch the boy who did it and he dropped my wallet.
Please post the source.
Who would travel with 90,000 in cash? Sounds like a scam to me.
And in every single hotel I've ever stayed in, the hotel management have had a key to my room. How else will they clean my room if they didn't?
The policy is the same in every hotel in the world - the hotel isn't responsible for lost or stolen items. You would be a fool to leave 90,000 in cash in your hotel room and then be surprised if it got stolen.
Damned Frenchies :O(
people should use credit cards.
those gypsies...!!
