Saftey Issues Aqua Park

DanaBell
By DanaBell

Is there some kind of saftey issue at the Aqua Park?

I see some saftey issue mentioned, but no one has stated what the concern is. Would you be so kind as to fill me in?

Thanks in advance.

When we play beach volleyball, the guys are in shorts only, and the girls have those bikini tops that look like a sports bra, or is actually an appropriate sports bra. We aren't even getting in the water, I cannot imagine wearing extra clothes... Seems illogical...

wear what you heart's desire in beach resorts here? I was in SBR last week and saw the skimpiest bikini a woman can wear! For me,if you have the guts, wear it!

women have self control so men can wear swimming costume, it's us men who have none so women should cover up.

Is there a dress code for men as well?

1 riyal for the park and 99 for enduring the bad look/or possible complaint! Lol!

Exactly Alumnar, wearing clothes like that can actually be more provocative than being butt naked.

Good point Arien...

it will be best to avoid this over-priced building site altogether and follow nomerci to Dubai, where swimwear is allowed!

My dear ladies.. dont you know that the swimming costumes sold in the doha shops are for purchase and take it to Europe and Fareast to wear and swim ? ;)

Snessy, clinging to your body is just like so many local women wearing skintight abayas - is that supposed to be so or their way of local fashion statement???

By flor1212• 2 Oct 2010 08:49
flor1212

either you don't go to this park or go and ignore the look of other people! Both scenarios will not kill you after all!

Actually, reading between the lines, everybody knows what is allowed and what is not allowed. Others just want to push for something to discuss!

Even if I choose to wear a pair of long shorts and top to the Aqua park, surely it will just cling to my body when wet anyway...

Mandilular and nomerci.......i think u guys were offended by my opinion tht's why u are getting aggressive towards your statements.......no one is not accepting others culture and customs in this country.........i thnk u just met wrong people .....if it is so then everyone have to wear THOPE and ABAYA lawfully and legally....i am not telling the name but thr are sum western countries who were not allowing muslims to follow their cultural dress and things.......restrict them lawfully to do tht.....but here the situation is totally differnt its a multicultural country and evrybody has its own customs....just get my point tht if one could respect your culture then u should his/her......

Exactly nomerci.

Just like many of my friends started avoiding bars here after the ID regulation and the "Dress Modestly" guideline, too much fuss.

Seriously, reading all this, I am sure many non islamic people will avoid that place. Just too much fuss....

54k, I don't KNOW what are Islamic customs in a water park. If I go by Dubai's standards, it's bathing attire, even bikinis. Maybe I'm stupid but you'll have to tell me how much skin is too much and then tell me what to do when someone contradicts you and says that amount is not repectful either. Do you see the problem here? It's not enough to say, "Respect the culture" or "Dress modestly" because there are MANY opinions on what this means even among Muslims and Qataris. If I go with shorts and a t-shirt do the shorts have to be below my knees? Does the t-shirt have to be below my elbows?

54K, yes, and WE, the non Arabic/islamic people have been invited here. So, why don't YOU,as a sign of humanity, respect OUR culture?

And pray tell...what is one to wear in a Aqua Park, where one swims, that is IYO ,unoffensive?

no offence.......but u guys now in Islamic country so try to respect our customs and culture......though wear whtevr u wish to wear but it shouldn't be vulgar or showing too much of skin.........there is no any kind of restrictions on wht to wear.........but one should respect the other cultures tht's a sign of humanity......anyways enjoy ur trip at Aqua Park

if its not swimwear, then what else do we wear for swimming?? Interesting and stupid debate.

I dont really mind the dress code. I guess it will be hard for me not to stand out anyway.

I do wish there was some kind of meduim when it comes to swim wear.

Maybe there is. I guess I will have to find out. I'm sure there is something acceptable out there. :)

Tinker, as you said, it does not matter what you wear, there are always some who feel they have the right to judge. I don't care anymore...as a matter of fact, my friends commented on how I do not even notice attention, good or bad, anymore.I am totally oblivious to it. Hold your head high and enjoy what you are doing.

The waterpark, as I said, none of my concern, as I will not go there, at all. For many reasons.

I know what you are saying about dirty looks and I too am always in jeans and t-shirts. I get embarressed though when I see women in revealing or too tight tops... I want to confront them they are the reason we get such a bad name here...

But I agree, an Aqua Park is for swimwear, what are swimming costumes for then?

Anyway, none of my concern...Dubai is right next door...:)

FathimaH, that explains a lot. Thanks for that link it was really helpful. Now I get what everyone is sayign when they mention saftey issues.

Tink, I read that post. So what are we supposed to wear?

Burqini? Are shirts and shorts allowed. I'm quite confused on what to wear to the park.
