Saudi government admitted there's been a mistake about the correct day of Id Al Fitr this year(2011). This occured due to misunderstanding of a particular phenomenon cause by planet Saturnus as before happened a couple of years ago caused by planet Mercurius. What it thought to be Hilal(new moon) is actually not.

The Government gave order to the people and citizen of Saudi Kingdom to qodlo fasting day of one day because Ied Al-Fitr supposed to be on August 31/2011 and not on August 30/2011.

As also there's news that Saudi Government will pay Kafarah money 1 Billion reyal for this mistake.

Are you sure that was happened ONLY in 2011; they need to go back and check many years in past on their haste decisions, which were followed by all GCC nations, except Oman and many European countries follows Saudi commandments.

Its not a mistake, wtch the video on youtube, you'll see clearly the people fro TAIF telling that it was a wrong decision. Also if you translate the youtube video title, السعودية تخطئ للمرة العشرين في تحديد هلال العيد  Saudi Arabia mistaken for the twentieth time in determining the new moon of EidIs it clear now  - IDIOTS
