Security Guard shoots Brit in Kabul..

This is a strange one..

From the Mail on Sunday..

A Briton and his boss were murdered in Kabul when their security guard opened fire on them before turning the gun on himself.

David Giles, who was deputy director of postal firm DHL Afghanistan, was killed with the firm's director, South African Jason Bresler, as they arrived by car at their city centre offices next to the Iranian embassy.

It was the second murder of a British national in the Afghan capital in a week, and came on the day the mother and sister of charity worker Gayle Williams - shot dead on Monday - arrived in the city for her funeral.

The Taliban denied involvement in yesterday's attack, which happened at 8.30am local time.

One witness, who did not want to be named, said Mr Giles and Mr Bresler had arrived at work in their silver Toyota 4x4 when the first shot rang out.
Several bursts of gunfire followed, leaving two others injured, one believed to be an Afghan policeman.
Last night, 13 people had been arrested in connection with the killings.

Kabul's deputy chief of police, Ali Shah Ahmadzai, gave no further details, saying only that the security guard - employed a month ago to guard the firm's offices - 'was the problem'.
But a friend of Mr Bresler's, who did not want to be named, claimed that the DHL boss had recently renewed a crackdown on attempts to smuggle drugs through his company.

DHL, a German company, employs 60 people at its offices in Kabul, which it opened in 2002. It is the only express postal service to the outside world, flying goods in and out of the country through Bahrain.

The latest attack has raised fears among the expat community that Kabul is nearing complete lawlessness and has become a no-go area for foreigners.
A warning was put out by non-governmental agencies yesterday morning of a 'credible threat' that a British national was being targeted for a kidnapping.
Charity worker Gayle Williams was shot dead by two men on a motorbike earlier this week

The Warlords have their "fiefdoms" and are safe. The ordinary people , especially foreigners are in danger. As Supernurse says, they know the danger when they go there.

that's not what they are...charity workers are there to help, not preach. They are not missionaries. Plus, even if they were, they are not trying to CHANGE the Islamic religion...they would be trying to spread the world of the Gospel to those that would listen. Very different. Now..that being said...I don't believe in force feeding ANY religion on differing religions. Plus, in the Middle East, its against the law. So therefore...anyone doing the missionary work is taking their own life in their hands.

Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fortune to run into the ones I do,and the eyesight to tell the difference.
