MUSLIM STUDENT PRAYING AT GRADUATION CEREMONY.
What do you think about prayer in school?
Being that the constitution guarantees freedom of religion, would not the prohibition of prayer in school be unconstitutional?

the lie detector might explode
It's easy to prove. Give the key players lie detector tests in front of the public..
Inside Job or terrorist assult i guess This something I don't think we'll ever know. We can only speculate much but it's the same thing as the assination of John Kennedy people have many theories but how can they really prove it
So that HBO could make a mini series and Brad Pitt could play OBL whilst Angelmna and Jennifer could be two of the wives...
Think of the revenue generated and the ratings ...
In the river!!! o_O!
I think I'll step out of this one now. Each to their own conspiracy theory and keep blaming someone else for anything that happens as it means you don't have to take responsiblity for anything.
(Maybe Andreas Brevik is a muslim and Al Qaeda and did this to stir up hatred to muslims justifying their war on the west.... see we can both play this game)
Kudos the Norwegians for standing up to bigitory.
We are getting side tracked - but yes, what the Norwegian people did was amazing and I take my hat off to them. We could all learn from them.
yawns!
I think it's prostration to thank Allah :)
****Prayer is the number one for the life of a Muslims ... :)
*********************************************************************************************
Fatima terrorism and killing of civilians and the rape of women is the habit of the West, specifically America gov
**** Do you remember the terrorist attack Norway, which killed about 91 innocent people
Was caused by Christian man...Why did not the media amplifies this act of terrorism?!
To imagine that if who do that is a Muslim?!!WoOoOoOoOW Muslim terrorist he he he
***they want from Muslims responding to talk and prove to them peace and loyalty always ... But on the other hand they give the world woes & Wars & ravages!!!
as Muslims must stand completely exonerated ourselves,,, simply because they know who we are ..And who does not know, he.she know if I like it
I must say LP's comment shocked me. Never assumed him to be the kind to fall into unfair generalizations and tar all practicing Muslims with the terrorist/suicide bomber brush. Surely LP doesn't believe that any Muslim who prays is likely to blow himself/herself up? Somehow he always appeared far more broadminded and intelligent. I'm gonna presume then this was just a lil dark humor..
admin_alert @@@@@@
why a comment such LP's about linking Muslims to blowing self up is allowed without any objection on QL? I seriously request that his QL account to be banned permanently.
LP if u were his classmate he surely wld have blown himself
His diploma was taken back and he had to do a week of janitorial work at the school as punishment in order to get it back.
I have always admired Muslims for their ability to incorporate prayer so gracefully and unselfconsciously in their daily life and work.

a prayer does not need any place , when one feels like to offer he can
I don't think he should be mocked for it or discriminated.
I simply feel that this occasion is not one where a person, no matter what faith they have, needs to demonstrate his faithfulness.
It;s simply bad etiquette.
There is a time and place for everything.
Well, no more provocative than Tim Tebow!
Mandi
Surely he could have prayed in someplace more secluded. Why out in the open at a graduation ceremony? That too when it can cause outrage and disruption, not to mention unnecessary insults and mockery aimed at both him and his faith. Seems like, Allahu alam, it was some kinda message he wanted to send out!
You misunderstand. Prayer IS allowed in school in the US. But it cannot be school-sanctioned or dictated. Anyone is free to pray on his/her own as this person is doing.
Mandi
Here is the youtube Vid. U can see him praying there.
theres always the right place and the right time for something =)
Is that guy a muslim for sure, it can be someone who is bowing to say thanks & express his victory!
From the picture we can assume the no. of students being awarded graduation,& only one xpressed his gratitude to the Almighty! he believes.
He was not praying (salah) but only prostration (usually once) as gesture to tanks to Allah. Some time we see a muslim football player doing it.........
Why would he want to pray just like that on an open field? If it was indeed prayer time he could always have done so in a private place. Perhaps he was just doing what we Muslims do at the times of joy. A quick prostration of thanks which lasts just a few seconds, not to be confused with our prayers which would take at least ten minutes.
He is an individualist and has my respect. Let everybody do as they like. Look at all the idiots just sitting there! Don't they look stupid?
If I may ::::
At this age , we feel we would like to make statements and change the world.
This student has decided to pray in front of the whole high school, probably with the intention of making a statement.
In a similar incident, An 18-year-old Irmo High school graduate is suing Lexington-Richland 5 for allowing prayer during graduation.
Matthew Nielson says he suffered "unwanted exposure to a school-sanctioned invocation/benediction/prayer/religious message/blessing" when a fellow classmate read a prayer before the graduates received their diplomas Wednesday,
Why isn't the security removing him immediately?

It is only a graduation ceremony buddy, no security is necessary.
source is MarcoNandoz
I must admit that choosing to pray at the graduation ceremony seems a bit strange. Perhaps he was just thanking Allah for his passing.
What is the source ?
Marco, I think NONE of them will do that.
You know what's funny! We know how the politically correct have taken over our public life ye. No prayers allowed at graduation ceremonies. Governmental institutions and so on. So why this man was allowed to pray in front of all these people on a govt funded school campus? Why isn't the security removing him immediately? What if Christian students had tried to do this at a Muslim school graduation and in a Muslim country? Do you think they would have been left alone or would security been there immediately to stop the praying? Don't the graduation ceremony attendees think this guy is flaunting his religion in front of them? Now that he's proven it can be done, how many students of other religions ( Christians , Jews , Hindus , Buddhists Satanists etc )will get up and pray in front of the public next year?
Actually he is not praying he has dropped his contact lense....
show off
He prays at the graduation ceremony? Why?
This is not the place or time...unless he wants to prove something.
big problem they might start calling students and school going children as terrorist
I see no problem with the above picture. It is not a state of school imposed rule so he is just exercising his freedom to choose. (As long as the does not make an unsafe obstruction)
Religion certainly has no place in schools as it is a personal matter and it should not be imposed on students. Like another posted said if they try to cover all reglions and gods there would be no time to teach anything else.
True, but in the US public (government) schools, they do not allow any religious rituals at all. This is to avoid opening a can of worms such as dealing with countless invented religions.
In the U.S., school prayer is proscribed by the First Amendment (separation of church and state).
In Canada, school prayer is disallowed under the concept of Freedom of conscience as outlined in the Canadian Charter on Rights & Fundamental Freedoms. Simultaneously, school prayer is disallowed in France as a byproduct of its status as a laïcist (religiously neutral) nation.
Countries that allow school and/or state-sponsored prayer include Greece, Iran, Australia, Italy and the United Kingdom.
edited. just did some research
