Actually, that's not quite true - I really pride myself on my driving but I DO think that's cos I use manual gears - you have to THINK.

I know the fault lights which appear and the ones you mean .. we had a very very old Citroen and it's dashboard lit up like Blackpool illuminations and November 5th put together as soon we hit a motorway and couldn't turn back (or so it sometimes seemed!)

Usually we didn’t see these lights in the dashboard which suggest there is something wrong; unless of course there is a fault in the car that made this light or indicator appears.

do you mean those lights which come on and flash things like 'STOP' because something is wrong with the car? For instance, no water - oops do cars still have radiators?

I just find it really satisfying to use the gears, rather than that weird dull 'oomph' jolt you get when an automatic changes the gear for you. I KNOW one can alter automatic to manual, but it just doesn't feel the same.

I prefer to change down a gear when *I* want to slow the car, rather than have the automatic gear box do it as a reaction to me hitting the brake.

I guess I'm a bit old-fashioned.

jauntie, most cars today are equipped with ECU's sensors and transmitters

if a fault is showing on the dashboard, it should be brought to the agency for diagnosis or erasure of fault.

Sequential or tiptronic transmission, you have the best of both worlds….you can easily shift to manual if you want to race, or just drive smoothly on auto. This type usually comes with electronic transmitters in their valve body which is connected in the E.C.U.

Better have it computer diagnosed to check the condition of the car.

Don't even think of getting a manual if you've never driven one before, and you have to have a manual driving license - even in Qatar.

at 10K the driver/user did only 2000Km per year. You need to have the vehicle checked by NBK to make sure the vehicle is good or not.

sequential is automatic gear but when u want u can drive the car like manual gear..i saw a mercedes 200 c kompressor very nice coupe double sun roof...but i am worried about this gear..i heard about steptronic but not sequential..also i want to check the price is 57000qr good.it ia 2002 model silver and 10000 milage..please advice..Darude said it cost more for maintenance,,,,

Like Audi's DSG might be good in that leaves the control of the vehicle to the driver, and I think the gear changing is very fast.

I don't know if paddleshifts behind the steering wheel are convenient to use though...

I have owned 1 or 2 or so sports cars in my short life :P

All very cheap and old, but great fun to drive. I don't particularly like automatic gears in cars because it really doesn't FEEL like you have as much control. Know what I mean ;)

you know doha's traffic, i'm struggling with manual gear too. Better not to go for it and with mercedez no way, i'm against it. so plz. my personal suggestion is that don't go for it... automatic is better.

If you are ready to face pains out of shifting gears and clutch, then go ahead with manual(sequential gear??).

However, mauual gear is reliable and longlasting, but not for doha...
