sexually harrass during interview

By stolap

My friends had been molested and sexually harass by a guy who is pretending to be interested in offering him a job.He get her nos. in qatar living and ask her for an interview. Is there any action she can do? She is still afraid to report to police because it’s Qatari/Kuwaiti national who interview her? Hope this serves as a lesson to any kabayan who is looking for a job, please don’t trust any stranger………

Mr. Stolap, whats stopping you from going to the police?

QL is not a police station, though u will get lot of words of sympathy on your story since you have made an allegation against a local here...and there are many people on QL who HATE the locals so anything against them is most welcome here even if its a self created story!

Anyways, have no time to waste on this faky thread, enjoy ur name calling(it does not make a diff) and u can create another story with another id too, if its against the local, dont worry people will come to give u words of sympathy!

Your friend's first mistake was to agree for such an 'interview'.The second mistake would be to not go to the police. She will not only make herself exposed to being harassed but she will also avoid warning other ladies who might fall into a similar trap.

So how did u help the topic poster, by believing his story of "Interview in Parking lot" or by giving virtual sympathy of words by just criticizing and blaming the local???.

If you really wanna help, tell ur friend to approach the police, if he is truthful about this story and also approach the media with proofs like how she came to know this "local"....how she contacted him, on which number etc, his car model etc etc.

Instead of saying police will not do anything, go and approach first, being in Qatar for longtime i can guarantee you that police in Qatar takes cases of women harassment very seriously even if its against the locals.

1) Well i dont know what nationality the girl is of.

2) And like you can blindly believe a FAKE story, I have every right to reject this story!

Well regarding my sister/lady friends, they are sensible enough not to meet an UNKNOWN man alone in a parking lot and then go on a drive with him and allow the alleged "sexual harassment" to take place in a strict country like Qatar!

And after all this do not approach the police but post on QL!!! Amazingly true isnt it?

but you have no right to say publicly that our kabayan is stupid. I think you are more stupid. If you can not say anything good or say your criticism nicely, don't tickle those keys. You are just adding insult to injury. I hope it won't happen to your sister or lady friends!

I can't believe a girl can be so stupid (girls are sensible, arent they?) to meet an unknown person alone in the parking lot of a shopping mall in a country like Qatar, whoever she is meeting whether a local, european or any nationality.

Like I said, the girl would be super stupid to meet someone in parking lot for a job!

And yes I cannot believe or Trust this all hazy story created by a person who just joined QL to post this story!

I would recommend that she report it to the police if she can provide any evidence. If she found the ad for the job in a newspaper, she should have that or if she has sms messages from the guy stating where and when they would meet for the interview. Because if she doesn't this would be "he said, she said" and this guy can turn the story around and tell the police that she is a prostitute. Sorry about this, but this could happen.

i remember when i applied for a job 1 man ask me to meet him at the lulu hypermarket to the same place, i ask this man why is the meeting place is in lulu hypermarket? and replied me because he just want to meet and conduct an interview in lulu but i was so lucky enough not to go on that interview as i and my husband have a bad feeling, this guy ask me if i am coming alone or with someone and replied him im with my husband then all of a sudden he make some excuses blah... blah... blah... ( is this the same man?) i just wonder

i took the company's telephone number and inquire if their company received my cv, i did call to their office to confirm if they are hiring then this woman (receptionist) told me that they didn't receive any cv from me, that they are not hiring any job related works...

As a lesson to this forum, always bring someone with you, friends, family member, or your husband or boyfriend, at least someone will protect you and someone can be your witness (just in case)

Stolap, tell your friend to be careful next time so she will be safe. If she can't do anything in case at least it serves as a lesson for her and for everybody... hope your friend is okey now....

PLEASE DONT GO ALONE INSIDE THE CAR WITH ANY MAN YOU FIRST MET EVEN HE LOOKS SO HANDSOME, CLEAN, KIND ,ETC, ETC......( He can not do anything outside even in lulu, restaurant, anywhere any place where there are lots of people will see you, any public places is safe) THE DANGER ALWAYS IS when YOU SUDDENLY APPROVE TO GO WITH HIM ALONE INSIDE HIS CAR...

I would say:

1- Report him to the police.

2- Never ride a car with a stranger.

3- I've never heard of an interview in a supermarket, it should be in an office, it could be somewhere public like a cafe or a hotel lobby if they don't have an office yet (within a safe distance), the Office should be full of employees withing office hours, not empty. You should never be in a car (he could take you anywhere), or in a hotel room.
