Should I bring my road motor bike to Doha

I am shortly coming to Doha to take up a new job ,the job is for an indefinate term and I wonder if I should bring my road motor bike with me . it is a big capacity sports bike (Suzuki GSXR 1100) . My question is would I ever get to use it there, either for sport or just having the occasional spin around the place? Hopefully someone who is into motor bikes will have an idea on whats best to do.  I have one more question regarding motor cycling in Doha ,what sort of clubs are there if any and what sort of motor cyling is done there?. I have done everthing from trials, Moto cross, Vintage moto ross ,speedway ,grasstrack ,and organised group road rides. Any information will be greatly appreciated. I look forward to meeting  like minded people in Doha.

guys, if you are interested, i'm selling my KTM 640 LC4 Supermoto, mod 2006, 2500km, 29000 QR...

I'm leaving Qatar, so that's super urgent.

For info, it is NOT DANGEROUS to ride a bike here, if you learned to ride in Paris France, and if you don't go 200 in the city...

Call me 587 78 27

and talk about it!

thanks

Hi if you get a chance, read this IT'S NOT POSSIBLE TO IMPORT A MOTORVEHICLE (BIKE/CAR) OLDER THEN 3 YEARS !!!! I've looked into it, wanted to do the same and now my bike is still in Holland. You can pick up bikes for good prices here i've seen and like Mr Tyler says you can ride as much as you like!

Thanks for your reply ,and yes I do have a 1100 GSXR and its in mint condition ,most people think it a few years old .

I don't think it qualifies for the museum yet at 13 years old .

I do have another bike that did live in a museum in New Zealand for seven years , but I got hold of it and got it back into its original racing trim .It is a 1973 250 CZ moto cross bike , that I have raced for the last two seasons in vintage moto cross.

Thanks again, R&R

I commute 100 kms a day and ride around for fun so you can ride as much or as little as you choose. When it gets to be june and july you need to be truly dedicated (and suffering mental illness) to ride during the daylight hours.

Hmmm- which personality is coming out today?

|First are youcertain of the size of your bike? If you have an 1100 GSXR you have a museum item to put away as it is the only one in the world.

Second: Do not ship you bike. Just buy a cheap bike here. They are plentiful and the shipping costs each way would far outweigh the value of bringing it. There are many riders in Doha, at least one large group of expat riders, check out zapmans.net
