Simple Question about Remittance

Simple Question: (Sorry can't/dont know how to delete edit earlier post--so asking this simplified question here).

This is for NRI's (Indians) in Doha. Anyone in experience to transferring to SBI please let me know.

1. Is Doha Bank to SBI Bank NRE account transfer 15 QR? or is it free?

This is because Doha Bank and SBI have a tie-up and do STP (straight through processing). Does this mean transfer is free.

2. Is QNB to SBI Bank NRE account, transfer fee=15 QR? (Confirming)

Thank you. And sorry for new post.

flexicode: I am a special kind of German :) kidding :)

Prism: I had paid Horrendous Online transfer fees, when I transferred money from Germany to India through online transfer. So I think I am still in that mode. Thank you for assuring me that it won't matter much.

Prism's reply (slightly longer) makes sense.

I understand from your other post (QNB) that u are here for less than a year or so. Cannot understand why are u so worried about this online transfer and which bank etc etc stuff. Open account with any bank and when u need to transfer money draw the amount (u can use a withdrawl slip in case u do not get the cheque book) , go to any exchange house (Al Fardan- QR10, Al Mana-QR15 etc) and transfer the money. It may not reach India in seconds but surely the next day or the next to next day. However, get that option of Online transfer with whichever bank u are with activated, just for those times when QR5 (the difference in transaction fee) would not make much difference in your life.
