Skiing (+ski touring) in Middle-East
Hi,
Winter soon ...
Anyone has tried skiing in Iran ? Or even ski touring there ?
Is it worth ? How is the weather usually ? Is it wirth going there for a week end ? (only 2 hours flight + then 65 km drive) When are the iranian week ends ? When is the opening of the slopes there ?
Anyone has tried heliskiing in Kashmire ? Ski touring there ?
What else would you advise for skiing in the region ? (except flying back to the french Alps / to Switzerland, etc)
Cheers,
Christophe
Faraya is by far the best (reputation). Sorry I can't help with skiing info. But try the wine. You won't be disappointed.
hi e46, thanks,
Which one would you recommand ? Faraya ?
Do you know where the good places for outtrack skiing are ? Ski touring ?
Cheers !
Christophe
Check these links out. I know we have an olympic ski team. And you can do some wine tasting while you're at it!

I have not been there, but the few pictures I've seen correspond to an average difficulty of skiing. Is there any good place for out track skiing / good skiers ? (I am not assuming that Iran offers places for extreme ski ... though with mountains up to 5000 m maybe there are; not sure it is possible to go on whichever mountain you want)

Try Lebanon. And the girls there aren't forced to wear a hijab when skiing!
