Skin Care - Where can I get ....?

Miss Canada
By Miss Canada

I’m in need of some extra beauty care. Can anyone recommend a dermatologist or an esthetician who does facials (deep cleaning, fillers, microderm peeling, etc)? Also, where can I find Dermalogica products in Doha?

BTW: I've been to the Four Seasons Spa and sadly, was dissapointed with their technique and overall know-how.

Many thanks!

From my experience, avoid the plasti-surgicentre like the plague. I went for treatment for hormonal pigmentation (love my kids but not what they did to my face) and ended up after months of treatment with no change and major acne problems on my cheeks. After speaking to a few locals here, they recommended Dr Hassan Medical Clinic....he was the head dermatologist at hamad before going private. He managed to clear up my acne problem which the doctor at surgicentre couldn't, and he caused it.

Be warned however as his bedside manner is not at all what you expect and he is more expensive

hi there Miss Canada, I would consider my self beauty treatment junkie too, I have tried facial every where in Doha, and i guess i could say Six Sense Spa @ Sharq village , is the winner for me , I go there , every month , I used to have my facial @ the Ritz Spa but their best therapist is no longer there :(

and about the Dermatologist i go to Dr.Ahmad Gahzy @ his clinic, and friend of mine go to Dr.Aydah @ her clinic as well..

Good Luck

I also have probleams with my skin but so far the best facial I had was at the Marriot, I don't think the prices are bad for the good service you receive and my skin look always better after it!

I haven't researched what's available yet...since I have my own stash of goodies from the US...Tell you what tho...the line from Guinot is very good..not sure who has it here tho...I'm about to go on a research tour of spas and facials...Will let you know my results...pros and cons for each.

Will tell you this much tho..brought this one enzymne from the US..powdered stuff..VERY good...Well legs were cracking and skin was peeling (my fault for getting in the pool and not rinsing several times during the day..chlorine eats your skin!!) so used the enzyme on my legs and wrapped them in cling wrap..(ok so I looked like a green walking enchilada) but it worked so well that all the skin that was flaking was gone...I need to order some more of that!! I KNOW they don't have it over here.

for open pores...hate to tell you this but nothing will make them any smaller..has to do with oil production, sun exposure and age. Besides which...you can get basically the same exfoliation from a good enzyme peel without the damage to your skin.

I have no vested interest in this(except to help out!) but am a international licensed skin care professional. Keep your skin well exfoliated, and moisturized..if you have oily skin(very typical for skin with large pores), then use a moisturizer that has more of water based ingredients, not oil. Astringents can make pores "look" smaller as can some contracting ingredients..but again..not much can be done to shrink pores. Good luck!!

I tried the four season's deep cleansing facial and have to say the best thing about it that you can use all the facillities of the spa!!!!!

I have open pores and need a deep cleansing facial.

the four season was suggested by my husband however I was disappointed.

I heard the the dermobrasion is good for open pores...

any idea???

Is Dr.Makki one of the best?? Adresse or contacts????

what about the Indian dermatologist in Rafa polyclinique???

Any new centre or Spa where to have a good facial???

many thanks

I consider myself a bit of a beauty treatment junkie. Having had the Four Seasons deep cleaning facial recently, all I can say is that it was a major let down! Although it was supposed to involve deep cleaning, the treatment was quite mediocre; in fact the esthetician was even afraid to do my pore extractions. Not to mention, the quality of products that were used were middle-range (although, homeopathic and perhaps ideal for overly sensitive skin). Save yourself the money and buy some of your favorite products and do your own home mini- facial.

I was thinking to go to the Four Season for the deep cleaning facial, is really not worth the money ??

hey girls the other place for dermabrasion is plastic surgicentre in between the mall and gulf cinema signals.

i knew i had seen it someplace...i had listed it as one of my favourite sites...came as a flash.

dr makki is a renowned plastic surgeon a consultant at hamad as well. i have met him and my first impression is good. he seems very positive n very accomodating to a patients needs.however i had not met him regarding derma............so u cud check with him.

his consultancy fees is 150qrs by appointment(u can make the appt over phone)

i keep visiting the clinic for various things bcos its mostly indian doctors. the doctors name is jameel.leaving the gps most of the specialists are good over there.their timings are 830-1230 and 4-9pm

i was tempted to go for it..but i felt my skin was masha'allah good.......so gave it a pass. but i have seen many women come in there for the treatment.

i am sorry i still cant recollect where i had seen the other poster for derma routines.let me think hard...i will let u know.

btw did u check with skin n soul near hilal r/a and La Reine(skin clinic) in hilal.they may have the treatment.but u need to visit them personally and check them out.

DO A FULL RESEARCH BEFORE GOING TO ANY PLACE.
