Skype not working from Qatar?

4,111,983 users now..

north america is sleeping and asia is getting to work. By evening, it should be ok.

Downloaded the new version and it worked fine last night.

There are obviously still problems with the service as there were less than 2 million using the system. Usually there are 8 to 10 million users.

mine is on... but havent use it yet :D finger cross it will keep connected :D

surprise surprise.

skype is working now and it has remained connected for more than 45 minutes till now.

I've used it from 11:45 PM I hope it does not go down now... especially in the day time.

in Turkey 16th August at 10.35pm. Been having problems logging into Hotmail for a couple of days but that seems to have been corrected.

Logging on to QL takes longer than any other site :(

Skype has released a new version - 3.5.0.214

Updating to this version might help. I am still downloading the software so can't comment yet on whether it is connecting.

For a change, our telecom operator is innocent. Let's see the bugs that the new version will introduce.

Hey, i tried on my Mac earlier and it was not working, HOWEVER i am using Skype now on my PC and it works fine.

I also had very Evil thoughts about Qtel. I still do... we need more operators here :-)

I need to make calls.. I dont want to pay Qtel for international calls.. but I cant help!! I hope it starts working soon

Any idea when will it be normal??

Skype does not still connect though it did connect for some minutes in the morning and then went back to "connecting" phase.

Skype says - its still having patchy problems 0700 GMT. I still cant get mine connect.

skype does not seem to be connecting but the skype software lists all the options that you would otherwise see when it is connected.

That is the beauty of updates. u bring in a critical update to fix some of the existing bugs and introduce some new bugs. How else would they survive? 1 bug to correct another bug..

I've been up all night trying to call the US. The internet's working fine with high-speed ADSL but I still can't use Skype. I thought it was the typhoon passing over, but that hasn't affected anything else. Now I know it's Skype happening all over the world. This is affecting some business as I have paying clients that I hold conference calls with daily on Skype.

When trying to download the latest Skype, I get a message saying that they are having software problems and it is expected to be fixed in 12 - 24 hours.

whole day it was rotating saying conecting,but it was conected,i had couple of chats and talk.

Even in India it was not conecting from morning.

I hope that doesn't need/show my log in and password! YIKES

I don't use Skype, but the other day (31 July) I got an e-mail from them giving details of an upgrade. (I think I did use it once a few years ago and they must still have me on their list).

My whole service was down a few hours and now cant get into Skype like many others but Skype is very reslient and will no doubt reappear!

Well Internet is really bad today, ADSL down for me and I'm on Dial-up. Apparently my husband can't get on Skype either.

I don't know what the heck is going on.

Ssssshhhhh.......it might have something to do with the US agencies boosting satellite use. ;)

Hey there,

Skype is acting funny here in Canada aswell since this morning. The icon at the bottom of the screen goes in and out of the green color. I was able to connect though to people even though the icon said I was not on-line. Who knows.

i can't connect mine either ... it must be Skype or ............................... Qtel !!! (again).
