I dont know if that is the correct name for the place.....I only know one Souq and that is the one which was renovated and looks like ancient. Opposite the Mosque. Bought a few good quality ( thick also) Prayer Mats from there. Cost me QTR25 a piece. Quality varies and so does the price. Yr Mom can easily make her pick there.
As for Mini Quraan, I have seen plenty of beautyful looking ones in Carefoure.....the big gift shop... errrrrrrr called Expo or somthing like that.

Ive seen prayer mats at giant store as well....
Why dont you ring Fanar and ask about mini Qurans, Im sure they give them out to interested parties, worth a try...
there are a lot of variety of Quran in jarir book store(mini and big size)

There are plentiful of prayers mat and mini quran there but not sure of the prices. I also saw lots of mini quran at the local bookshops.
