Speeding on the Corniche
Just to let you know that I got a speding ticket along the Corniche ....and you could too....I have never seen cameras along there but they are there somewhere and I got a QR500 ticket even though the two people in my car at the time are adamant that I was just cruising nicely - 80ish (yes I know the limit is 80) usual description on the citation is apparently "loading / unloading a vehicle in a way that ....."
...right...they are stainless steel columns about 2metres high...no markingas and there are four along the Corniche...beware....BB is watching you!

on the corniche. They are the large gray boxes. Sometimes they give messages like "have a nice day" or "Enjoy Qatar". They are supposed to be more aesthetically pleasing than the plain white radar looking cameras.
daiwai...you must have done it on a Friday morning...when the lanes are empty....cause its very easy to go over 80 and not notice it...as you are looking at the passing sights, the sea, the buildings etc....
...one doesn't "feel" the speed on the Corniche road....be careful...
You paid the minimum QR500 (no points), try getting caught twice at the same place within half an hour, QR1000, 2 points.
Or try breaking a red light.
p.s. what do you mean by "hope any locals reading that will take it on board....(no chance!!)" ??
So disguised, as I thought.
Thanks for the advice - hope any locals reading that will take it on board....(no chance!!)

Yea, speeding kills dude, and so do desert yetis. 'Looks outside window'
there is a camera in the corniche (al bidda park area), the shape just like ads stand. It will not flash when you drive pass it. Not many ppl knows that thing is a speed camera. There was a write up on the gulf times some years back when they installed it.
YOU SHOULD NOT SPEED WETHER THERE IS CAMERA OR NOT !
