Sri Lankan Food Fiesta
Lankan food fiesta to mark I-Day
The Gulf Paradise team for the Sri Lankan food festival
GULF Paradise Hotel, in association with the Sri Lanka Embassy, is organising a Sri Lankan Food Festival from February 5-14. ‘Flavours from Sri Lanka’ is part of the festivities marking the 61st National Day of the island state.
The promotion offers the finest experience of the Sri Lankan dishes that will be prepared by chefs flying in especially from Trans Asia Hotel in Colombo. The spice-rich cuisine makes use of cumin, coriander, saffron, chillies, dried ginger, cinnamon, and paprika as main flavourings.
Specialties such as Hoppers, Kuttu will also be available at Al Thoraya Restaurant, the venue of the festival, from 6-10pm. The preparation of the buffet dinner will be headed by hotel’s chef Mustafa and food and beverage manager Tarik Asif.
checked it out the other day.
food was just OK. not much variety.
And I think it was not worth QR 60.
besides they charged children 25% each, including my 2 year old!
I was at the Trans Asia hotel on 27/12 last year for a friends Birthday party.. The food was good. But generally Sri Lankan food is too strong for my liking..
