My company is working with Mashreq Bank. Every month I am receiving my salary from Mashreq Bank. Last year in July, Masreq Bank worker came to my company. They asked all my collegues for credit card. I had been very happy. Because I didnt have any time to go to bank and to apply for the credit card. It was realy necessary for me. I prepared my passport copy, Id copy, company letter for the Bank. I gave all my documents that Mashreq Bank worker. He told me 5 working days later your card will come to your address. 1 month passed. I called Mashreq bank to ask my credit card. They asked me the guy's name who took my documents. I didnt have to know his name, he said ok I am coming to your office, you prepare your documents again. I prepared again. he came and received my documents. 2 months passed. Neither anybody calling me,nor the postman bring my credit card. I called to Bank. No body knows anything about me. I got crazy. I went to the Bank. I asked the worker of Mashreq Bank who is named Mohammed(Indian), they told me he went to his vacation for 3 months. I asked where is my documents. They told me we dont know. I got crazy and crazy. I told myself Ok Nazli, no need, forget about your credit card. Use your Turkish credit card. 6 or 8 months later from the begining, Mohammed called me," How are you Nazli, I am Mohammed, Are you still didnt get your credit card? All your documents with me but your salary documents date has expired, can you bring me it? That time I would go to holiday, i really need credit card. In 5 minutes I left office and go to C Ring Road Branch. He were laughing at me. He took my document and told me 5 working days later. Be patient. I went to holiday, came back 10 days later, 5 more days passed I called. Somebody told me after shouting him to remind me who am I,he told me that mohammed changed his job. he went to another bank, another company. Oh my god. From the begining. It was like a joke. Somebody told me maybe he sent your application to UAE. let me check you from the internet. He told me it is on the way. 3 days later you will receive your card. I didnt say anything I couldt believe (I hate Mashreq Bank. It is not a bank. All the workers doesnt know anything about banking.) Lately my card one week later came to POST OFFICE. POST Office called me to take my letter. I went and received my credit card. Today has been 1 month after receiving my card. I went to Mashreq Bank for payment of the credit card, also I requested automatic payment from my account. Becasue it is very difficult to go to bank every month in working hours. She made my payment automatic, that time I relaized, this is MASHREQ BANK , Nazli be careful, this is not normal bank. Workers are not normal.I am sure I ll pay two times in a month. I said "I am sorry I want to close my automatic payment request" to the lady who opened my automatic payment request . She told me I can not. I said why? 1 min. ago you opened my automatic payment request. She said sorry go inside of the office. Oh my got. It is like a mystery. I went inside she checked her computer told me call our "call center" I said ok, cancel my credit card. I dont want anything from your bank. No need. Please cancel. She said you have to pay all your debit.And go to that lady who opened your automatic payment. I paid all my debit, I went to that lady, I said cancel my credit card. She said give me your passport copy. I said in your archive you have, she said you have to bring it. I said I have ex ID. She told me no, maybe you fired from your company, how can I know. If I fired this is not problem, because I dont want anything from your bank. Just I want to CANCEL my card. Also when i went to cashier to pay my debit, I asked calculator to calculate my debit. He gave me his mobile phone for calculating. How you employ these stupid people to your bank. These are not those people's shame. These are Mashreq Bank shame.

i submit request for clearness letter and since 8 days #Mashriq_Bank#Ramda Branch Qatar not give any feedback .when i calling on landline number all numbers on silent and when i call on customer care of #Mashriq they advise me you personally visit beawar very poor services and very stupid staff of Ramada branch

In 2010 one of the agents gave two credit cards stating that it is free for lifetime.I do not have any salary account in Mashreq bank but he kept on insisting and i took it.I have never activated the credit card or made any single purchase.In between i tried to cancel the card but they never cancelled.

In the meantime they keep on piling the finance & other charges per month.

How to take up this case?Is there any consumer grievance or other forum?

are there anybody out there (besides me) who observed that there are errors in the system of Mashreq bank as of today?

When i checked my balance thru mashreq bank ATM machine, the amount came out with "negative/minus " sign (ex. amount: -XX,XXX). This was at 1PM today.

when i tried to pay my groceries the POS printed as "insufficient fund". THis was at 3Pm today.

When i checked my balance again in Doha bank atm machine, it shows "Amount: 0". This was at 4Pm today.

I came home and acces mashreq bank system onlinne to check whats happening on my account and upon typing my correct user name and password, it will show, "LOG-IN FAILED".

I was really disturbed, Is my bank took my money in my account? I did not received any SMS about the movement of my account details especially the avtivities of my money. :(

me too had a bad experience w/ masreq in c-ring customer service! they have customer service who dont know what really a customer service is!!! he even told me "i'm not working for you!"

so instead of applying for additional transactions, i applied for my card cancellation for i dont want to have anything to do with that bank again...

they're also giving wrong informations in the teller like you cannot pay your credit card over the counter as the system will not allow!!! crazy!!! and want me to pay through their machine w/c i dont like as i want to pay the exact amount for closing purposes...

before i leave i told the guy & girl next time dont give wrong informations to your customers, for i know we can pay over the counter as every month my friend was paying my credit card w/o my credit card w/ him and he's doing it over the counter!!!

i have the same bad experience with this bank. they are thieves, their reward system is useless. after you have all your points from shopping spree, they will just ignore my claims because I lost my card and they will not issue replacement because I am no longer employed. what the h*ll! and this bank thinks that I cannot survive being a housewife, that my husband will not support me. this bank has no system and is not organize. and i agree, they work as if their colleagues are strangers. they dont know each other. i will never ever get any related services to Mashreqbank.

I agree with you guys that Mashreq Bank is really a Stupid and Lier, because one of my friend apply a personal loan and one of the agent of the said bank if what ever happened to you in Doha Qatar or the company will terminate and you are not yet finished to pay your credit in Masreq Bank the loan is covered with the insurance after one year my friend is terminated by his company and he will send to Philippines so he have a balance to the Bank Loan, then after 5 months the mashreq bank will forward to the interpol all the details of my friend bank say they will sue the case to my friend. the nerve!

I applied a bank account and personal loan in Al Mashreq Bank , I completed all documents, when I submitted the transfer letter certificate to them (attached) they accepted and the open the account but my loan amount still on hold, until I submit another transfer salary certificate.

Including (in case of termination or end of service the company should inform the bank and transfer the end of my service gratuity to Al Mashreq Bank).

Unfortunately my company refused to give me the said document .

As result of that I failed to get the loan from Al Mashreq Bank , and they start to deduct the loan from my transfer Salary , I contact many employees in the said bank but they done me nothing as they wait instruction from the Manger In Dubai , and his majesty also busy in india

So since one month a run after them to get my money back .

Really is there any ........... bank like that .

i was planning to write something really BAD experience regarding the Mashreq Bank here in Qatar, specially the aL Rayyan Branch..

the agent from the bank called up and ask me to activate my Debit Card in ANY branch,so, went off to the nearest branch which is the Mashreq in aL Rayyan.. i was there at 10AM and asked the staff in the reception and she handed over a form and asked me again to sign it since they dont have my signature in the data base?(i was surprise because its already opened-account since my salary was already there but my signature wasnt in the data base of the bank..), so they asked my to wait for 5 to 10mins. which turns into 2HOURS of waiting.. YES! 2hours just to confirmed my signature from other bank..it took them 2 hours for the verification of my signature.. and after 2HOURS of waiting i was asked to go to the 2nd flr which is the place you can PIN your Debit Card and all of a sudden its offline.. i was so freaking MAD almost shout at them but i hold up my temper since the receptionist was so accommodating and keep me updated.. i just HATE the freaking system of the Mashreq Bank..its the lousy and pathetic! the WORST BANK SYSTEM in the world! so cut to the chase.. after 2HOURS of waiting, i made over-the-counter withdrawal and was asked again to wait to verify my signature and waited another 30MINS before i had my withdrawal..i was so freaking mad with them!!!

so after a day, an agent who process my card called up early in the morning and asked me to visit the bank again and waited for an 1HOUR and nothing happened.. i was late for work that day and they wasted my time!

MASHREQ BANK HAS THE WORST SYSTEM EVER!!!!

I had 40 such certificates for the past 8 years with no winnings. I hope I will be able to encash them in the near future. Pity I did not keep them in deposit, having lost at least 20000 QR so far.

I am extremely happy with Mashreq Bank Credit Cards. I have used Airport Lounge 3 times last year (free) during travelling. Got one AAA road assistance card for free.

Recently I came to know that I have 63000 Mashreq points which means I can get gift vouchers worth QR 630 redeemable at centerpoint, 51 east etc....

Excellent deal since I was using HSBC cards for all my life and I got nothing in return

Same thing happened with some people in our office and they finally got their credit card but using the card put them in more trouble than they cud imagine.

Sharing their experience, I refrained from getting that card.

Anyhow, closing down the account & cancelling the card is a good move.

i do not understand why poeple even consider taking credit cards?!...

have people realised that the whole system of having cards wiht CREDIT, where developed years back - to support indivudals doing bussiness wiht large amounts of money fluctuations... it was not a system devised for common man to use..

but now- people are just fooled by this system, are not aware of it, and just jump into such schemes.

Im satisfied having a simple debit card, taht allows me to handle money the normal way. Please be aware of a certain system, before joining and applying to them in haste.

Take a plane, go to Dubai directly to main bank

and ask to speak with Gen. Manager not to other

people.

I do this here in another bank and get support.

When you are dealing like small client, waiting on line to get your right then you have problems like mentioned before.

I open account last week, one Indian come to company, few days after they invite me to bank, at first they open me normal saving account, I say NO. I dont save money here I spent all or send to my country and they open me GOLD account, give me nice leather book and in few days I will get my debit card at first.

My Id is still in process and this is normal they wait ID then they give me cards.

If something change in customer relation be sure I will inform you openly or go to owner of bank in Dubai.

I dont care how much cost me but client is KING.

i had same experience... me and my friend, i just used the card once and all of the sudden all the balance amount are gone without spending it. when i called the bank they couldn't explain to me what the hell happened, they just said ' yah ur balance are finished '... just like that without clarifying. and if you didn't pay your monthly payment at their due date, you will received a call that you have to pay this amount or they gonna open a case against you... how was that???!!!!!!

All banks here are not that customer centric. We are yet to hear the positive sides of Mashreqbank anyway.

Banks has tighten their rules on loan and credit card so unless you have complete docs and there is no issue about your past financial transactions then you'll get your card fast. If there are delays that is because there are issues that they need to resolve. It is a matter or communicating with your bank.

So sad for your experience this should be a wake up call on Mashreq Bank to check on their staffs. Kinda hard because of the multi cultural environment.

Hi Guys

I would just like to give a small advise about Mashreq Bank... This bank is a real monster. Trust me you will regret the moment you applied for a credit card from them. This bank send his idiot workers to you to give you their offer of credit card with a lots of unused benefits. You get the credit card. And here you start the unfinished paying. You keep on paying and they keep on adding.

I fell in their trap, I got their credit cards. At the beggining the late payment fee was 125, they changed it into 175. I have two cards, If I get late for one day. I pay extra 350 QR!!!! God Demn it!!! I feel they are taking their salaries from our salaries.

I have account in HSBC SHARJAH/U.A.E. I havn't seen in my life stupidity like this bank, they open account for me then I found everything was wrong, it was a long tragidy.

Furthermore, if you call the bank 1000000 times nobody will answer you. About carpark near the HSBC it is a real nightmare as well.

This is just another example of how institutions are not regulated or controlled here. Personally I would not give my personal details to someone coming in to my office. Not even if he claims to be from the bank. Best policy is go to the bank, fill in the application and retain a copy. You should know that what is promised and what is received here differs greatly and no one is held accountable

Even I think its really a stupid Bank. My mom had to pay QR 165 for closing the card. Though we didnt use the credit card at all. My mom never applied for a credit card. But they sent it to us saying that this is for the SPECIAL customers who have Mashreq Millionaire Certificates. Though we didnt win anything since 6 years. Its useless keeping these certificates as its just blocking ur money for a long period.

I think the draw is for their kiths and kins.

In my opinion Banks should be given a rating according to their Performance,Customer Service and Reliability by the General Public or an Independent Body so that people especially recent arrivals would not feel that they are in Darkness while selecting or dealing with a Bank.

Advertisements Doesn't mean everything since i feel there is a viel between the relationship of Customer and a Bank in most Cases.

Mashreq is a "Millionaires" Bank where a penny is not given to a needy Customer. Believe me they take money in a Second or so but runs you between pillar to post for giving any money. THE WORST as far as i have seen, no ethics nor policies just trapping tricks.

They Come to your Office saying they provide easy loan,good interest rate and all the stuff, being fallen to the trap you open a salary transfer account and gives all the documents and thats it.............the REST is a TALE unknown but Experienced.

Every day they got a reason or so and one fine day would come up and ask an idiotic question to clarify so and so..........and days roll you keep on waiting.

In my native place the lottery hawkers or vendors says "Tomorrow,Tomorrow,Tomorrow is your Day, take a bumper Coupoun and Win a Hundred Thousand and a Car",Tomorrow,Tomorrow........."

The same way guys in Mashreq would say Tomorrow and sometimes "Today Evening","your application is ok and accepted and we wil credit the amount to your account".................

You waiste your time,energy and Money going back and fro for a Loan from Mashreq Bank.......

And as they Say "it Rains " when Mashreq finally gives you a loan if at all you are that lucky or end up as a daylight Fool.

once again, this is a hundred times we has posted thread for Mashreq Bank. what to do?

i've been a victim, my friend whom i referred too also been a victim and here we are again...

i made sent my complaints and all of your post here in QL thru their email but nothing happen. one guy called and he just listed and didn't meet my expectations. i don't know swear how to deal with their bank. but in UAE they're claiming they're No.1. really? or maybe No.1 in fooling people.

Credit card solicitors are not Mashreq Bank employees. They are agents promoting Credit Cards and they get a commision after you apply for the card. what will happen after that is non of their concerns. So don't Blame The Bank for the actions of the individuals.

i bet this is the worst bank ever. i was a victim too. mashreq bank employees are the worst in customer service!!! hate to see!!! they are trained to work for mafia or underworld.. oh sorry may be in fish market!! they are only trained to cheat the customer or to trap the customer.

sorry to hr wht happend to you,if you remember I spook to you about that cuz I work for the bank and you called me and you shout on me-by mistake-!! I dont think that should put itall on the bank in this way, specially whn you give your docs to any body ask to, one guy dosnot represent all the staff.

hope you find your pace of mind in some other bank.

OK it was just to long ang borig read all of it. any way the guy Mohammed(the indian dude) is the one to blame all of this. I think he dont know how he should do his work. Masheq should fire him

I SEND ONE COMPLAIN LETTER ALL E-MAIL ADDRESS WHICH I FOUND FROM MASHREQ BANK WEB SITE. THEY DIDN'T TRY TO WRITE ANY ANSWER TO MY LETTER. I SAW THEIR CUSTOMER IMPORTANCE ON THEIR EYES

Yah such a stupid bank! You are all ryt! Just got a bad experience from this bank also!Atleast I know now that I'm not the only one who hate Mashreqbank!

I once trust Mashreq too but I had a terrible experience with them - It is unbelievable to deal business with bank and they just rely on verbal communication fro whoever and never really verified how true is the report they got, instead they treat the customer as thief. I did not say this because I heard so, but because I experience it myself. It's the worst nightmare in banking transaction. worst.. worst.. worst.. sorry for those who served Mashreq sincerely but this bank is a milestone away from the customer deserved bank.

To be short:

1. Representative came with credit card offer in April-2007.I gave about 5 official documents, complying many times what they were asking

2. The present, May-08; STATUS STILL THE SAME; no card, no representative; just the comment under processing.

3. Reasons? Some representatives, as informed from internal sources, did some frauds, so the management sacked many, including the represenrative who handled my case plus his team leader.

4. Plus points are that once in a while I do get an anonymous representative call of Mashreq Bank saying that my card would be issued shortly and they need another certificate for that. And again the friendly and likeable females at customer support who say "Go away" as if it were an "Welcome".

5. Personally, I decided to end my relationship with the bank by cancelling the Millionaire certifiates and the linked card; as the proverbial last straw came delays in getting cancellation approved from DUBAI and customer service representative who has time for everything but sit in her chair to help a hapless victim as ME!

I have been using this bank for millionaire draw only. 100 of their agents offered me credit cards and a firm no. to everyone. These prople who are promoting their credit cards are not their direct staf.. They are agents who are working for a commision :)

I went to them to open a saving account, and I wanted it to be quick, I had a lot of cash in my hand that I wanted to keep away from my other accounts.

The first day to told me we neem the Electricity and water bill as a part of the documents, I came back the next day and they did not ask about it again, so i lost one day for nothing.

They promised me it takes 3 days to open the account, and I waited 13days, and never heard anything from them, I called them back, asking if my account is opened already, and how long it takes to close it again, :))

Yea, it's rediculous, Time is money for me, and I don't want to mix cash in the same accounts, for business requirements.

Ironically, they told me there might be a charge for closing the account, and then they told me that I can close it for free since I did not use it.

Other than the amazing and helpful Philipina in the costumer service, I found nothing good at all.

The one thing i know for sure is that if you miss their payments by a day, you get a big fine.

well frankly mashreq bank services are really good in UAE i wonder how they got this bad here!!!maybe they are trying to go with the flow!! banking services are hopeless in qatar no matter which bank you deal with!!!
