super glue help please!

diamond
By diamond

In one of my regular dumb moments I have managed to superglue two fingers together. It is a bit painful.

Please, does anyone know how to separate/dissolve the glue so I can have my fingers back?

By owen• 18 Sep 2007 07:48
owen

and from now on, please stay away from those super glue or have someone else do the task of opening and glueing whatever...stay away..you'll never know..:D

I did it once before, tried to unbind those two idiots but could not ... they were really in love ... So .. I had to do a surgical treatment ... got one sharp knife , .. heat it up on the oven .. then cut those two after applying some Alcohol [Esperto] it pains me for a while .. but it was better than driving me nuts :)

Alexa, thunderous applause and whooping!!!!! You are my new 'How To' guru. I can now confidently say to one and all that Nivea is the antidote to superglue. Just slather it on the affected area and dunk in water for a while. Rub, rub, rub,rub...hey presto, the superglue slowly comes off.

Alexa, thank you and please take a bow. You have saved me tonight...

Good luck.

There is always a bright side for each story.

Although I did "fish" myself, but the catch on that day was good.

Gee thanks KH :-/

Now you're scaring me.

Will call doc to come over in a few hours as don't want to appear trivial and hypochondriachal.

In the meantime the Nivea is really making my fingers soft and smelling nice...mmm.

I think surgical spirit or kerosene would help. Not sure.

By KellysHeroes• 17 Sep 2007 19:40
KellysHeroes

Do like what I did once when I "fished" myself in one of my fishing trips. Just go to HMC and they would take care of it.

When I was deep sea fishing, the BIG hook "landed" on my finger underneath the nail root. So I managed to go to the hospital for assistance. Unfortunately, I had to tell then the technique of removing the hook and they took care surgically:)))

Good luck

acetone is having no effect...currently slathered with Nivea and stuck in bowl of water...then I'm going to have a good old pick as Alexa recommended...

a polite non-salute to you...

wash it with water as much as you can i suggest keep it in water for one hour or half and hour if still nothing happens vvit a doctor

When it happened to me I rang my local pharmacy and spoke to the chemist. He said unless you wash it off IMMEDIATELY there's very little you can do but wait. I sort of picked at it occasionally :o(

Hopefully someone here with have a solution for you.

Meantime, if it's your index and middle fingers glued together I shall allow you to salute me, but just this once ;o)

J, are you kidding me...I cannot wait for my fingers to separate with time. I look like I'm pointing a fake gun at everyone. That's the last time I'm fixing a broken part of a toy plane though. Think I'll delegate that as a man's job in future...oh my manicure is shot dahling.

thank you Lisa1004, mx1o0o for the link, clare, novi for being nice, DaRuDe for being DaRuDe.

It's not budging with acetone and a nail file or green scrubber sounds way too painful so am now on Alexa's suggestion. Have Niveaed up my fingers and waiting...

In the meantime I'n amusing myself with Owen's helicopter game which only requires one finger! _______________________________________________________

With all this talk in the forum about bad drivers, did you glue your fingers together to prevent the temptation to make rude gestures?
