Syria - Barking dogs seldom bite

Syria's Assad warns of 'earthquake' if West intervenes

Western powers risk causing an 'earthquake' across the Middle East if they intervene in Syria, President Bashar Al Assad said, after protesters called for foreign protection from a crackdown in which 3,000 people have been killed

Assad, whose father put down an armed Muslim Brotherhood uprising in the city of Hama in 1982, killing many thousands, said the latest crisis was part of the same conflict.

....As they say barking dogs seldom bite, they do make a lot of noise like Gaddafi did but in the end they get what they really deserve like the treatment Gaddafi received.

Quiet ones do bite! ;0)

Anyway, "Syria's Assad warns of 'earthquake' if West intervenes" - right, that's why the Arab League is advocating keeping this problem within the Arab brotherhood.

If only Syria would allow independent observers from the Arab League, that would avoid more unnecessary bloodshed. There is always more than 2 sides to any story. Perhaps there is huge misunderstanding and Syria's leadership is not what it seems. Threats and force don't encourage much resolution of the issues, rather it makes the leadership defensive and all out for self preservation, while the innocent suffer.

I really hope the people of Syria can resolve this problem on their own. There's only 2 countries that could do something about it to help them, and all that would do is draw more criticism and enemies from those countries who don't have the balls to step up and help. It's just not worth it anymore politically to try and make a difference in the world for the less fortunate.

Its astonishing how the world keeps silent while this tyrant and despot who goes by the name of Bashar Assad continues beating, butchering and murdering his own people. Hope he is aware that a similar fate awaits him like that of his brother tyrant Gaddafi.

A few days back Al Jazeera reported Assad's version as "Syria would burn if NATO intervened"...but now it is an earthquake :-/

LOL. I read this the first time as Al Assad threatening a real earthquake instead of a figurative one. LOL. Might need to lay off the cold medication.

I love it when the truly retarded people come out from hiding to post an utterly stupid reply on a public forum. And you state "thinking" is one of your interests, you are a liar my friend, it surely does not show here.

The U.S. pulled out of Iraq to honor the wishes of the Iraqi govenment. They aren't pulling out very far if you noticed, only giving Iran enough rope to hang itself with.
