Team America World Police

I'm sure this has been talked about to death but since it was on the tube last night, it brought it mind. What was/is the local reaction to the movie? Is it taken as a lighthearted spoof of political correctness and sound bite spin or is it taken as an insult?

When the South Park movie came out and poked fun at Canada, (it was actually more of a parody of the US), my fellow canucks all had a pretty good laugh...not taking it too seriously. Is that how Team America was taken?

I watched that movie on a laptop while I was recovering from severe food poisoning in a hospital in South Korea. THe Koreans around me thought it was hilarious....except for the rather graphic sex scene.

of the US. After all, we are slowly but surely taking it over from the inside (LOL). Also, we (as Canadians) have a clearer perspective. Most Americans cannot differentiate between an American and Canadian when they stand side by side and speak (OK, some Newfoundlanders and other Atlantic Cansdians - namely, Cape Bretoners, who don't convert "homespeak" may stand out, but some could be taken as being from Massachusetts - at least by Americans).

I don't even consider Acadians and Quebecois in this equation because Americans just can't tell where they're from.

Just watch the movie "Canadian Bacon" (a Michael Moore production) Irag could have been us, without the WMD, IED, and whatever else ..D people like Rumsfeld could have come up with. But, without the body count.
