Things to do: Wrong traffic violonce issued

When I checked my plate number from the government website I realized that there was a traffic violence issued to my plate number; from speeding with an explanation of "LOADING A VEHICLE IN A WAY THAT CAUSES DANGER TO PEOPLE AND PROPERTIES". Since I know that is the explanation of speeding and being caught on a radar, I checked the time and area and realized that it was not for me. I was at a company dinner and my car was with me, and the location was a place that I have never been in. So I print out the page with violation explanation and went to the traffic department near airport. They said I have to check from Madinat Khalifa. The day after I went there with a friend doing the local works for us. And it was very easy, the lady gave us the photo of violation and it was a land cruiser with the plate number beginning 3 instead of mine beginning with 2. But the officers were working in the morning only and my friend asked them if he could do correction without the me. Lady said yeah sure. You need this photo and license of the car. Today I checked the page again and it was written "No violation". Hoorraaayy. I was expecting everything would be harder here in Qatar.

Thanks for the helpful service.

I hope it will be a good explanation who would get in trouble with Radar while they are innocent :).

No I do not have the flag of my country on my car. But 've seen a guy who has done that.

For the luck maybe I was lucky; to meet a nice person at th traffic department. In any case hope it will be a hope for people who will be in same situation with me.

both my dad's and mom's cars got fined for the same reason....this 'dangerous loading' stuff.....at the same point in Azizia area.thanks a lot for the info....we were planning to pay up coz we couldn't possibly do anything about it.......now we've got some hope....otherwise,it'd be QR.1200 down the drain!

Keep smiling!

Saggi!

You were lucky to get it settled so easily. Do you guys believe what happened to me. I was on holidays in July 10-31 and I do remember I checked my traffic violation before I left on holidays which was showing NO VIOLATION for my number plate as well as my ID. When I came I checked it on the moi website (middle of August) and was shocked to see that my car number plate is showing a violation in April but was in Oman and my fine mentioned was 15 Omani Riyals. I took the print and went to Traffic Dept. in Khalifa. They checked the computer and told me if I have not gone to Oman I should go and talk to the Department handling the violations. I gave the print and told the Officer that I was not in Oman and I did not visit Oman recently. Before I go to them I send an e-mail to them requesting to reverse their system as I did not travel to Oman. They told me to go the Customs and Port Authorities Dept. near the Sea Port and get a certificate from them stating that I did not travel in those days by car out of Qatar. I went there and spent half an hour to get a certificate for which they charged me Qr. 10/- . I went back to Khalifa and gave the paper to the Officer to reverse the system.

But honestly I do not leave my destiny to luck only :). I try to control it myself beginning with; at which speed I am driving, checking time to time this page, and going and asking for my rights from the traffic department after finding a wrong issued violation.

Life; is just a dream on way to death...
