Burgers, Burgers....and then some more Burgers....(I m talking about food here)

If not that then Grilled Chicken or Grilled Meat or Grilled Fish

feel like vomiting already...

If I was offered a delicious veg meal & a delicous non-veg meal then I would anytime pick the veg meal.

I wish if there was at least one Punjab-da-Dhabba style restaurant.....really miss those Tandori-rotis & mutter-paneer not to tell about those makki-de-roti & sarso-ka-dal and top it up with a sweet-lassi......and You are done for the day.

There is only one mumbai-type pani-puri Hotel (with lassi available) near Family Food Centre near the Airport. The worst is you have to stand outside and eat (especially worse on a windy day).

Garden and Star-of-India can be called veg only because some of the dishes offer veg items but they cater majorly to the Non-vegs. But both are ok, but still steep as one meal (buffet) could set you back by QR30. approx.

In the whole of City Centre, if you want veg then you have to settle for either veg-fried-rice or pasta. I really find it funny.

There is a huge pulsating Indian-Pakistani-Bangladeshi-SriLankan population out here waiting to eat out but cant do it just because of all the mostly non-veg stuff.

And how many more fast food joints are going to come out offering Burgers & Chicken laced with Monosodium Glutamate (posinous but taste good) for children. I thought some countries banned it to be used in food for children.

but when i finished my mtech i did go to the scholl to rub it in, didnt succeed because they were so happy and they were confident that i would do it.

well at a point i hated "some" teachers soo much that i had taken an oath to harm / punish them some how ofter scool ... but now .. i kinda feel pity for them, esp when you meet them they are soo nice to you and it feels good ... but i still run away from some teachers, dont want to get caught up with them at the wrong time with friends and they ask you, Oh when did you get married, pretty wife you got there :| and i`d never see light again ... haha, so maybe if u ever happen to see any teacher at any mall and if u see some guy runnin away in a hurry .. urrm.. that would be me :)

Ram, i used to bake good cakes, but i have been lousy at it lately. i tried choclate cake 3 days back, burnt part of it but had to cook further bcos it had not cooked from the middle, so took off the burnt crust and baked again. it did turn out edible after all that.i am doing something wrong with my baking.i did bake an orange cake but while baking its like and risen but the minute it cools its goes phuuuusssss all the way down like a balloon out of air, another dissappointment.

maverick are u from bangalore? i am very busy friday to join anyone for lunch or dinner bcos my entire family is waiting for lunch that i order from outside, i used to make it a point to cook specifically for fridays, but with 2 tinytos, its difficult, and my dad n hubby are very understnading, so mazza zindabad.

ram, rice kheer, what i do is, cook rice normally in water and sugar till almost done and then pour enough milk to soak in all the water and let it cook on low flame. its very easy.u have to keep checking on it to see it does not stick to the base else it will burn quickly. while u finish cooking see that it is of a liquid consistency because once it cools it tends to get thick.garnish with any chopped nuts, raisins, add little rose essence or water for extra flavour/smell.

rajiv how do you make suji halwa?

jaipur, bangalore, wow now we are talking about real food and places.

rajiv u sound like a very good cook, how do you cook your karela, is it with jaggery, i love karela but it has to have jaggery in it.aloo is my weakness :-)

just love gajar ka halwa, and only the ones i make, dont usually like whats served at the hotels, i did try once at taj rasoi and it was great but going to taj rasoi for gh is a bit too steep.

hey also try biryani prepared at mazza, i feel they make the best biryani, actual layered rice not rice mixed with masala.

for typical tasty oily nonveg food, try sara, qutbah, lahore restaurants.

our usual butterchicken, khormas and mix of all cuisine, kebabking is good too, their arabic grill tastes different from the other grill joints.different tastes but good.

food created a connection for people to meet, great:-)

sara restaurant behind homecentre jaidaflyover, makes great phirni.

Cooking started as a necessecity when I was young due to some family circumstances. However I have trained a couple of Filipinos when I used to sail on the ships. They have really made books writing the various recipies i used to teach them. Two of them have even opened a restaurant in Manila. Fortunately it is sort of God gift. Lets hope you can try one day and judge for yourself. There are quite a few people who have appreciated my food.
