Top 10:Moustache-Dense Countries

By fhyzzal

No.10 Bulgaria
Known for being a hirsute nation, Bulgarians' love of themoustache is bettered only by their loves of music, soccer and volleyball.

No.9 Hungary
Hungary is the second Eastern European nation to make it on to our list. You know a country has a reputation for moustaches when it gets its own category of facial hair in the World Championships.

No.8 United States
It is estimated by moustache historians that around 10 million men in America currently sport a moustache.

No.7 Turkey
In recent years, as Turkey has sought to become more closely integrated into the European economy, there has been lamentation at the demise of the moustache-wearing man. More and more men have shed their moustaches, in an effort to appear more modern and professional.

No.6 Egypt
With an estimated population of 83 million, making it the mostpopulous country in the Middle East, Egypt is a worthy representative on our list.

No.5 Iran
Iran is one of the very largest nations in the world in terms of surface area, and its population of 70 million has a very large Shi’a majority. As well as being very careful followers of Islamic doctrine, a lot of famous figures in Iran sport facial hair.

No.4 Germany
Germany’s population of 83 million has a long and proud historyof wearing moustaches.

No.3 Pakistan
Pakistan has the second-largest Muslim population in the world, with around 173 million Muslims. Once again, it seems likely that religion plays a role in the prominence of their facial hair choices.

No.2 Mexico
If you asked anyone to describe a stereotypical Mexican, the chances of them having a moustache are pretty high. Mexico has long had a very masculine culture, and icons such as Emiliano Zapata and Pancho Villa may have had an influential role to play.

No.1 India
The winner of this competition was almost inevitably the second most populous nation in the world, with its 1.2 billion citizens. Some estimates suggest that as many as 80% of men in southern India wear moustaches, which immediately places that one region above most countries in terms of moustache-wearing men

Expatg the entry to the parking is blocked by unkempt hedgelings just outside! Judging by the moustache on her upperlip the undergrowth must be very dense too!

So true.. I wish I could tell those so call Macho men that mustache is not what makes a man.. When it comes to women, majority of us like clean shaved men.. The only exception are Mallus... Mallu women love men with thick black moustache but then the men also prefer women with moustache.. Now you know why mallu ladies never bleach or thread upper lips..

By anonymous• 6 Feb 2011 17:36
anonymous

The problem is that people with mustache think it is more manly to have one. Good luck convincing them that it looks like a dash of crap

In that case I don't think I am ever getting married to either a Paksitan or an Indian bcoz I don't like facial hair on men.. Not that it looks good on women.. Clean shaved chikna men are the best.. Shahrukh, Aamir, Salman, Akshay..All are chikne.. So who says Indian men have facial hair.

Does this include the women who have moustaches....

When I was in Istanbul I saw babies with moustaches.

Also I wish female shop assistants would remove their moustaches esp if they sell beauty products. Takes away their credibility really....
