Toys and games...
Sex toys and games, illegal in the UAE, are being sold openly in the country, news website Emirates Business reported on Monday, adding that Arab women and men from Saudi and Qatar are the biggest customers.
"Our products range from flavoured lubricants to sex games, body stickers, costumes, handcuffs, sticks, rings, and a bevy of other items. They are very popular and demand is very high," a saleswomen at a Dubai mall store was quoted as saying.
She added that demand for these products is high and they run out of stock quickly.
The customers are mainly Arab women, she said, adding that "we also have Arab men, mainly from Saudi Arabia and Qatar, who like these things".
A saleswoman at another outlet in a trendy mall in the emirate told Emirates Business that demand for sex toys is very high.
"However, we don’t sell them, as it is illegal. They also ask for videos, which we also don’t sell."
Majority of the customers are between 30 and 45 years of age, Emirates Business reported, adding that prices of these adult products range from 100 dirhams ($27) to 550 dirhams.
