Does anyone know what pappers should i have in order to take my cat with me back to Greece. Is microchip required? I am travelling with Qatar airways should i inform them before i leave, in order for them to prepare the cabine where the cat will be placed?. I mean have all the planes the right ventilation at the cabin where the pets are placed.

Please check in the Group : http://www.qatarliving.com/node/13145

You will find some links there to start you off. The Vets also know most of the regulations. Depending upon whether or not Greece has EU pet passport scheme under Defra, you may have to do specific blood tests on your pet, and they will need to be microchipped.

I will eventually put up all this info on the group, but until then you can start calling checking the links.

Good Luck.

You have to inform QA about this, because there cannot be more than one pet on the board and it has to be pre booked-they can still refuse you just like that.

Your cat should have a special passport-call your vet to ask about this.

Moreover, you should have a special cage for your pet- when you will call QA they should help you out.

Also check with your embassy, as JoeKanuck said, if they have any specific regulations in your country concerning this matter.

Good luck!

It might be very complicated. Many countries have strict quarantine regulations. You should speak with the Greek embassy to see if they have any issues before you go through too much expense.
