You can get Showtime Sat with Showtime America Sports. You can add from MultiCHoice in Dubai the Foxsports network which would get you whatever is playing in USofA on Foxsports.
There is also Orbit/ESPN which might get you some football also.

yes al jazeera sports is in arabic, but most of us just learn to cope with watching the games without commentary.
you might also want to look into ART. they offer an excellent variety of sports channels (i think they have 6 in addition to the optional al jazeera package), but other than the sports channels their packages are absolutely crap.
Thanks mocha. So far looks like I'm learning toward showtime then. Hmm, but would bet my bottom dollar that the Al Jazeera channels will undoubtedly be in Arabic. Not quite the same!
i believe sportsNET America on showtime is supposed to show some NFL games
starting september 06 onwards you can add al jazeera sports channels to your existing showtime package. if i'm not mistaken they air games from spanish, portoguese, and italian leagues. not so sure about the FA cup though, but i think the english premiership is on sportNet World (showtime).
Cable? i didnt think cable was available. Someone mat prove me wrong but i think only satellite is available. For Prmier Fotball, a friend of mine has some south african channels that are good. Ill try and find out the package details unless someone else here knows. It costs around QAR 2000 a year.

Thnaks e46. narrows down my options a bit!
... have the rights to the Premier League. They also give you the option of an English commentary.
Muchos gracias...will do! heard of Multi-tech. Just asked someone and said one of the better (and more reliable!) outfits around.
Thanks again.
yet ANOTHER option.Guess will have to hit ye olde cable shoppes and see what's up.
basically looking for sports, news and decent channels that show some cool serials like Law and Order and of course, movies.
