Tv in bedroom leads to unhealthy lifestyle

Teenagers with a bedroom television tend to have poorer diet and exercise habits and lower grades in school than those without one, U.S. researchers said on Monday.

While many studies have examined TV viewing habits of young people, researchers at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health said little had been known about the consequences in particular for older adolescents of having a bedroom TV

to have tvs in the bedroom since it would interfere with their studies. We had a tv in the family room and homework had to be finished before they could watch...but if it wasn't scalding hot outside, would make them head out to go play instead of being couch potatoes...both of them now enjoy the outdoors and prefer to do activities instead of watching television. Same with video games..those weren't allowed in my house either..and I was told I was a horrible mom for that, until they realized that their friends who HAD the games, had a really hard time using their imagination when it came to playing outdoor games, because they always used the videoes and never had to use their own  imagination.
