life imprisonment is subjected into pardon from the pres. or king....
"Life imprisonment (also known as a life sentence, life-long incarceration or life incarceration) is a sentence of imprisonment for a serious crime under which the convicted person is to remain in jail for the rest of his or her life."
quote from the link s_isale provided
Also provided in the link is a table for all the countries and majority of the countries hav "NONE" under the maximum scentence column.
life imprisonment doesn't mean you'll be imprisoned for life! some countries has 20, 30 or more. in my country, reclusion perpetua is 40 years. there is a limit so that prisons will not be congested.
@s_isale if you look at the link you just sent me, moajority of the countries have no maximum limit, meaning LIFE imprisonment
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_imprisonment
For every country, life imprisonment has a limit. for some it is 25 years for some 30 or even 40.
If the criminal is very dangerous... like say a cannibal then he is given a prison sentence of 473 years or more...so that even if his conduct is good he will never get out of jail!
you need to cross check this from any criminal lawyer in UAE..
Well this is something new for me to know..so can't argue further..
do you have a link to verify this, cuz im findin this sooo hard to believ dude, i tried searching on google and wiki, but i dont see a maximum limit on LFE sentences
many a times the prisoners die in captivity but there is always a maximum number of years..which could be 15 to 25 years.
this is utter BULLSHIZzZ
but how can you calculate how long life is? isnt life supposed to be until you die?
in UAE system they dont count the nights and the national holidays. if someone has been given a life sentence, it amounts to some 25 years. moreover, after 15 years, every year many prisoners are set free on the day of ruler's birthday as a good gesture..
if someone is lucky, he may be freed after 15 years even if he had been charged for life.
