Unlawful act by Indian Embassy Doha

I went to Indian embassy for tourist visa. After visa approval I needed to pay visa fee and at fee deposit window the lady asked me to pay QR305. I paid the requested amount and then she gave me receipt of QR295 and a blue chit worth QR10 as walfare fund. I was surprised that she did not bother to tell me that QR10 would be walfare fund whether I wanted to contribute or not. She was doing this with everyone in the queue.

This was a open unlawful act and I got quite upset because this is not a matter of QR10 but this was the boldness of the emabssy doing unlawfully to the clients. I request to the authorities to take notice of such things which are happening quite unnoticed.

I just shared the information to Qatar residents and authorities.

My concern is the women at cash window should tell people what she is doing.

They're collecting money on official platform without authorization and you never know where it is being used.

This is to CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW.......... IT ISN'T A CRY FOR JUST 10 BUCKS .......HAD IT BEEN IT MAY NEVER REACH THIS FORUM, IT'S A CRY FOR ALL THOSE N THAT LINE AND HAD TO PAY THAT 10 BUCKS WHICH SURELY WOULD HAVE ACCUMULATED FOR A THUMPING AMOUNT AT THE END OF THE DAY. FURTHERMORE ..... MOST OF THE INDIVIDUALS WHO STAND THERE FOR WHAT EVER THE SERVICE THEY COME THERE FOR, COME WIZ A VERY LIMITED AMOUNT OF CASH IN HAND. NOT ALL CARRY SOME EXTRA AS YOU MAY DO PERHAPS, SO NEXT TIME YOU COMMENT ON SUCH ISSUES PLEASE DO THINK TWICE OR MORE DEPENDING ON YOUR BRAIN CELL FUNCTION.....

Now just wondering if the Indian embassy and the Kerala embassy are the same embassies or whether the Indian embassy is run by the Kerala embassy

i had also faced a similar experience. I have to pay extra when i took PCC. Though my company paid that, i feel such collection with any explanation is rude

This happened to me also in last October 2012. Definately, there will be no such official who is really interested or wil try to stop such st#pid act either. Since all staff's r Malbari, its their inherited habit. :(

They charge QR.1 on Attestation services as well. Likewise they have "P"- Passport services, "V"- Visa services, "A" - Attestation, etc.. I guess daily some thousands going for "WELFARE FUND".

There are lots of poor Indians in Qatar so this is the only way to help them.
