Valentine's Day

By Segmund

It is a just a little more over one week to go! Have you guys made up your mind what you are going to do on this Valentine?

Are you in favor of celebrating Valentine's day? Do you think it should be celebrated in the first place? If yes, why and if no, why so?

rofl TB i just had a mental image of you running really fast.....and then i stopped laughing :|

V-day isnt just another day for people who celebrate it, yes i feel we need to have one day where we can put our wits to the test to do something special for that someone special. You can do it all year round but then would it really mean something? Would you celebrate your birthday everyday?

I hate the fact that prices get hiked on this occasion but hey what the heck you only live once and the world keeps turning.

I am going to tell her that Valentines day is the invention of capitalist pigs, who are nothing more than a protection racket, taking money from us in return for our guaranteed safety. And that there is no way I will be bullied by such a heartless mob. Then I am going to run very fast....

Thing is, I don't expect anything from anybody anytime, not on Valentine

s or any other day. If something is given to me, on any day, I'll be happy.

The best gift this year will be that we can celebrate it as a family, as we all will have the day off! :)

but I can see why people would enjoy doing so. Just like birthdays. And though I don't celebrate it in any sense I do enjoy all the commercialism that precedes this day. Like the sales of scrumptious chocolates and other goodies which are generally unavailable throughout the year.

Personally when it comes to love and romance I believe it should be 24/7. And yes I expect chocolates and gifts throughout the year as well!

Well, as such as muslims, Valentine's day has no importance for us; therefore, if someone does not like to celebrate it, be it so. Well and good.

But if someone just wants to be happy and commemorate some happy moments with a significant others, there is no harm done either. I think we can just take it lightly and this should not be a big deal.

So instead of trying to prove the other person wrong, why not agree that both sides could be right in their own right. :)

Its not that we need Valentines day to show our loved ones how much we love.... but it can be used as a reasone to gift ur some1 special.... coz these days, every1 take others for granted.... nd u dont gift them regularly..... so y not use these days like birthdays, anniversary, valentines etc to shower some gifts nd make them feel special.
