Hundreds shot in Bahrain as emergency declared

MANAMA (AFP) - At least 200 people were shot and wounded on Tuesday in a Shiite village south of the Bahraini capital, a medic said, and two people killed elsewhere, as the king imposed a state of emergency after bringing in foreign troops to help quell anti-regime protests.

at least to our company. We have been advised there may be a delay in this month's salary. :(

Our HR is in Bahrain and people have been advised to stay at home this time and banks are closed. So our salary won't be deposited and transferred until they have returned to work. :(

There is a Travel Advisory here: http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travel-and-living-abroad/travel-advice-by-country/middle-east-north-africa/qatar

"We advise British nationals in Qatar to maintain a high level of security awareness, particularly in public places. You should avoid large gatherings and demonstrations. We are aware of reports of a possible protest on Tuesday 15 March or Wednesday 16 March."
