my sister (holding a pakistani passport)is planning to visit by next week with her two sons. Even though she holds a valid oman residence visa she was refused visa issue from the qatar embassy because she is not travelling with her husband. they advised her to ask me to apply her visa from doha. i just want to know what documents, other than her and the boys' passport copies are required. according to a friend we will have to prove her relation to us; if so what papers are acceptable for this purpose.
another problem is that her younger sons passport will expire by the end of april but she wont be staying more than the 14th anyway. can this be a problem?
my other sister ( canadian passport holder with two american kids) wants to come over from saudi arabia by bus. She has a valid iqama also.I am told she can easily be issued visas at the border. is that so? she has not been able to get information from qatar embassy in riyadh and is confused. So am i.
can any one shed some light on these issues?

We were surprised at the ease and speed at which my sisters visa was accepted and processed. my husband and i applied at 9 30 pm and the next day by 1130 am it was ready. i am impressed!

secondly though i do not work i was the sponsor of my sister and her kids and everything went like a breeze.

Well yeah, infact i got her soo tensed off that she got all her documents verified from the Qatar Embassy in Oman and they told her shes Good to go, apparently i`ll agree its one of her positions which allows her to get visa on Arrival as she is a Manager, but again coming back to square one .. m really tensed as this is the first time she`ll be coming to Qatar and i really dont want to mess this up ...

in my sisters case i went to the visa office in person and sponsored her on my name and not my husbands( as i was led to believe)the appliocation was accepted and i will get the visa today.

the problem with single pakistani women is that the pak govt restricts their travelling alone especially from pakistan. if she is a working lady with proper residence visa of a GCC country then there may not be a problem but, on entry, visa is given only to select professions! doctors, engineers etc. so tell her to confirm if ppl from her profession can get it on arrival. make sure she doesnt travel without confirmation or she will be turned away. my sister and her husband drove all the way to the uae muscat border in the hope that they will get the entry visa easily but were turned away because of a technicality, so do ur home work!

hi there, i have one of my friends travelling from Oman and she is also holding a pakistani passport .. and is travelling alone .. and no i dont have any relations with her but just a good friend coming down to see Qatar. Coz of this whole confusion, i made her go to Qatar Embassy twice and also check with travel agents, and even the Qatar Embassy has confirmed that she can get Visit Visa on arrival here in Qatar, all she need is a UAE Road permit, and her profession letter from the Ministry of Oman, Due to her official status i guess they are allowing her to get visa on arrival as this was verified by the Qatar Embassy Officials .. But now this whole thing of Single women not gettin Visa is really scaring me and i am getting more and more tensed as i really dont want her to take the trouble of coming all the way to Doha and her not getting a Visa just coz she is travelling alone and has no "Blood Relations" in Qatar ... Can any one help ? has had a similar situation of any friends "Women" coming in to Qatar from any GCC state ? i guess they should be leaneant compared to other countries as they still come under GCC Expats... Any Advice ??

I Am a filipina, now having a work visa from my employer there in qatar. My problem is im still processing the validation of all my school documents here in Phils. But my employer is now asking me to be there since I already have a work visa...

My question is, how true that upon arrival, I maybe refused to enter qatar and maybe deported if ever my school credentials are not authenticated with their embassy while im still here in Phils??? how dangerous is it?? do they really have the ground to deport me??? is it possible to submit later since my mother promise to send it to qatar as soon as it will be finish process here in Phils???

please helpp...

Sorry I got it wrong first time. Corrected it. Yes He can sponsor your sisters. Yours and His blood relations can be sponsored without a problem including their immediate family. You can also sponsor all your cousins etc if they share the same surname. The condition is that your husband's salary shall be high enough for immigration to consider it( This is completely at their descrition).

To get a Qatari Visit Visa All passports shall be valid for Minimum 6 Months and also the GCC resident Permit shall be valid for more than 6 months. You can easily sponsor your sister and her two sons because the Father's Name in the two passports- you and your sister's will be same. Passports which are about to expire Shall be renewed before attempts at visa.

Documents Required:

copy of your husbands' Qatari ID, A letter from your husband's company stating his salary addressed to immigration, Copy of yours and your husbands' Passport with valid resident Permit. Passport copy of the visitors and a cover form filled in Arabic. You will get this Visa in 2 days.

I am not sure that Single women are allowed to enter into Qatar via Land route. Check and be sure before this move is made.
