The Indian embassy website (www.indianembassyqatar.org), launched yesterday, provides comprehensive information about the services offered, India, and bilateral relations with Qatar.
Ambassador George Joseph launched the website at the 62nd Independence Day function at ICC. Minister Sanjiv Kohli gave an overview.
The home page has links to information about the embassy and its officials, consular section, community welfare, economy and commerce, India-Qatar relations.
Directory of Indian government websites, official websites of President, Vice President, and Prime Minister, Ministry of External Affairs, and information on studying in India can be accessed from the home page.
Links to the national portal of India, Overseas Indian Facilitation Centre, Ministry of Tourism, and India Brand Equity Foundation (a public-private partnership between the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, and the Confederation of Indian Industry) are also featured.
The consular section link leads to passport information and services, visa information and services, and allows download of forms for passport and consular services, specimen affidavits, and visa services.
The availability of application forms online in Word and PDF formats will save a lot of time for applicants as they an download and fill in the forms before going to the embassy to submit them.
The community welfare link has information on labour and social welfare, labour disputes, death case procedures and registration, checklist for Indians coming to Qatar for employment, documents required for recruitment, and on the Indian Community Benevolent Fund, and Indian Cultural Centre.
The economy and commerce link offers an overview of bilateral economic relations, Indian companies in Qatar, trade and investment in India, business contacts in India, and the Indian Business and Professional Network.
The India-Qatar link provides information on bilateral relations, visits of dignitaries, important agreements, and commercial and economic relations.
