What do you want to come to Doha?

dohagirl
By dohagirl

Since it's the summer and it appears that everyone is quite bored, and many of us continue hijacking threads. I've come up with a question that can encompass many diifferent topics.  What would you like to come to Doha?  Restaurants, Movies, Bands, Bars, Strippers, Jude Law...The lists are endless.  So if you could have your wish and get anything you want in Doha, what would it be?

You can still have some of my bacon though :P :P

I hear CNA-Q is working on it, but they are pretty stubborn. I think we should film one of those cheesy commercials they do, like the Canadian club in Scotland and the girl with the Tim Hortons mug going through Europe. Maybe they will send us everything we need.

I wonder why you still see my old pic? Cat I'm only calling it like I see it, and you my friend are a Bitch. :P Just kidding. (But only if you give me bacon).

Depends on what kind of shoes you want. There are some great shoe stores especially for the spiked 8 inch heels. Personally I like Brantano's at LandMark, cause the shoes are usually cheap and you can always find cheap HushPuppies, Pumas or smaller heels.

Did I hear Qatar will have pork produce???? I would be interested.

I have heard that which is why I've never actually gone to the Ramada. :D Better bars with less professionals and more single girls would be great.

Butterfly I know a great beach outside of Al Khor and there is never anyone there.

And a Gap and a Banana Republic.

By Super7• 25 Jul 2006 14:41

Ramada are having several bars. one of them is called Rock Bottoms. You may have heard of it from Dubai.

I agree qcat more pedestrian areas. I can't believe in a country with weather like this there are virtually no open air cafes, restaurants. In winter the weather is perfect.

These will all be on the pearl though

I would love to see more places you could go out and socialise, not in the hotels, where you can have a drink, too. Some discos, clubs, pubs, more stylish European type coffee shops, and such like.

I would also really appreciate pedestrian areas for people who can brave the weather. I love walking, and it kills me that I have to drive to get to the store 500m away because there is no way I could walk there.

Would be nice to have normal vegetables, whatever Buttfly says - what we have here is horrible. Cucumbers here are not good for anything at all.

A theme park is not a bad idea, maybe a few rollercoasters...

OK so now you all know I am at work and bored.

Duhh

Just next to the dip club there is a beach where all the south africans go. Nice bunch actually. They are there from about 10.30 till 4. They leave at 4 because that is when all the locals come down.

The best place to go buttfly is safliyah island. It is pretty close and the locals can't drive their land cruisers there so less hassle.

Trouble is you need a boat!!

By butterfly• 25 Jul 2006 12:13
butterfly

it makes it really hard for a mum to take her lo outdoors. And parks are boring.

My only places was the Palm tree Island and they are demolishing. And clubs are way too expensive for a single membership.

Am really not looking forward my return to Doha.

By Super7• 25 Jul 2006 12:10
Super7

Buttfly (sorry I find that really funny) actually I also think that they have so little going on in their lives that they come and watch what other people are doing. I go down to Wakra a bit to do kitesurfing and they will drive up to within feet of you and park their car even though you are screaming at them to get out of the way as you struggle with a big kite.

Voyeurs of all people with a life I think.

By butterfly• 25 Jul 2006 12:05

but try getting to wakra on a weekend. If a gil is there men will make pictures of her, never mind if her husband is with her and she is not even in a bikini.

But this year I will join a club, I have no choice.

Do you or anyone here know any single man who is triying to get into a club

By Super7• 25 Jul 2006 12:01
Super7

They have that already. Join the intercon. Anyway elsewhere in the world there are big groups of single guys and big groups of single girls and it makes beaches that much more fun.

By butterfly• 25 Jul 2006 11:59

but it could be easily avoided by regulating the place with security, entrance fee and not allowing the entrance to people who are likely to disturb others. (like big groups of single men)

By Super7• 25 Jul 2006 11:57
Super7

That is not the beach's fault though buttfly. That is the people.

By butterfly• 25 Jul 2006 11:55

a sex store and a bar to a proper public beach?

I think a proper beach is a must in this place. A girl cannot go alone to places like wakra. And even if I go with my husband, the hassle is there.

Would if I could, but unfortunatly they don't believe they are ready to open onto the world market yet, they are waiting to gain more of a foothold in the US first. The only reason the soliders got one is because they are dying, so everyone needs a double double before they die. :)

They have really good sandwiches and chilli too Super, not just Soup. It is awesome, they had to open one in Kandahar for all the Canadian soliders and the College of the North Atlantic is trying to get one to come here. They moved it down to the US a couple of years ago and its booming, its driving Krispy Kreme out of the market.

Now the issue is to find S-toys store :X.. Yes, I don't think it's not allowed by religion to use them with the wife but it's just a cultural thing. someone started a forum asking about bringing sex toys to Qatar. Since that is not allowed I told them to go to Carrefour.
