What if mankind couldn't lie???
For a while I've been wondering if there's a quick fix to solving all the problems in the world. I'm sure just about everyone, at one point or another, has had that “beauty queen” thought of “I wish there could be world peace – tomorrow”. So, I've wondered and pondered about this and was trying to think completely outside the box. I thought maybe if a TRUE messenger showed up and it was beyond denial by ANYONE that he/she was in fact a messenger from a divine power. But then, there will always be someone who will deny it and fight it, so I don't think that would be the solution to world peace.
Then what if aliens actually visited earth. None of this area 51 crap, but they were here for real. Wouldn't that prove that all religions and the idea of a God was a hoax. Wouldn't it potentially unite all human kind and we could put aside our differences? I honestly don't think aliens would do the trick either. Religious leaders would try and spin it to their advantage, governments would do ANYTHING to try and retrieve their advanced technology and that in itself would be enough to start a world war. So, no good.
Those are the quick fixes so far, but I don't believe any of them will work. Finally, I thought “What if mankind couldn't lie??” Would that solve all the problems. I know a lot of people (probably the majority being men) are thinking “OH NOOOO.... I'd have to answer ALL the questions from the missus”. But think a bit beyond that. Imagine that there would be NO government secrets. We would get the answer to the JFK assassination, the answer about Area 51, 9/11 and the list goes on for about a mile. We would get a complete insight to the library in the Vatican. We would know if the Pope actually believes in God or if it's just a matter of power. There'd be no crime to speak of, as finding the culprit would only be a matter of asking enough people. Eventually you'd ask the person who committed the crime.
Would the inability to lie improve this world of ours, or would it destroy it. Would we be able to embrace the lack of lying and make a peaceful world, or are we simply not intelligent enough to handle the truth? What's your take on it??
