What's up with Qube?

jdylan
By jdylan

Noticed they changed the entrance to the front of the Ramada now. Heard from several people it was because the place was getting over-run/crowded with Indian bachelors. Guys were saying it looked like a disco in Delhi or something. I went monday night and it was nice, not too many people, just right. But even then I noticed groups of Indian dudes at several tables and also a group at the front who weren't being allowed in although the bouncer let me and my girlfriends walk right in. Another guy said it was because the Indian guys just don't know how to act in clubs, staring and bother the chicks, and don't spend much money. Does anyone else have any ideas why they close the front entrance, or heard why?

And you decided to wake up 20 days later? Great. I am just beginning to wonder if I was the only one wrong in blasting your thread, just like everyone else.

~~~rayyz said Jdylan ...Wow! Hold your horses mate. Whats with anti-indian campaign at 2.30 am in the morning! It seems some "Indian guy" really pissed you off at Qube. Where do you come from Mr. Superior?
What are you talking about? Where did I come off sounding "superior"? Where did I come off sounding as if some indian dude did something to me? It was a simple question, and it was actually in defense of the indian men. I think perhaps YOU need to "hold your horses", and calm down. Not every post is a personal attack, people. Seriously, I re-read my post and fail to see anything in it that "attacked" indians. Calm down, Paranoid People. All this blabber and no one even answered my question, I just get called a racist. Gee, it makes me feel weird to be a so-called racist and have a tattoo of the Buddha on my arm, while planning my vacation to India next year...
Again, the question was, why did Qube change their door policy so you now have to enter through the hotel, and why, on the night I was there, were they keeping all the Indian dudes outside while they let me walk in?
(Also, by the way, I was with a group of friends and I picked up the tab and spent 550 Riyals on the 6 of us, which is what I meant by "spending money", if that helps. You guys are a bunch of paranoid nuts, really. Laughable.
On the occassions i've been its been, with my wife, in a mixed group,(race and sexes), and its been ok. I wouldnt want to be a single girl on that dance floor though. Ive witnessed first hand the overzealous advances from all races. Borders on sexual assault sometimes.
One thing i have to say though is on the last two occassions, as we left the club, we witnessed a group of Indian males beating a small group of males, ( Nepalese i think). The second time there were two or three Indians attacking a single Nepalese guy. The first time we intervened and their group scattered, the second time the Police were there very quickly.
Incidently the bouncers did nothing and it started in their doorway.
Maybe this has added to why the entrance has changed.
Good morning to all beer guzlers.
There is so much happening here today morning, it feels like you have already made a wednesday into friday... NO work ??? LOL
jdylan was pissed with his boss and that to an Indian lady... its a male ego or was it you went inside as a couple and left a stag.
There could be some more reason, he was not able to get hold of any good chicks in delhi pub..
What say JD...where did u go ?
I would never let myself be put in a position to let anyone feel me up I get clostrophobic if I can't breath freely.
I went to a large vegetable market in Ankara where I used to shop every week and one man did dare to nip my bum - be sure I made such a scene he will never forget it.
guys have you all noticed one thing all most all who attack a particular race always do it in a new ID .... and as always they put the country as Qatar instead of their origin
How coward can they be
Salla apna bap ka aulad hai to apney id may akey attack kar .... lol
If you can't change your fate, change your attitude.
anything like that feeling up part(ok..back in the States I did but he got punched by me, and then thrown out by the bouncer...)...staring, yes...getting hit on, yeah..but once you tell them you aren't interested they usually get the hint (ok..this can take a couple of times...and the offer of r-7 to help!) but they will leave you alone. perhaps you got a bad crowd that night..I haven't ever been to the Qube either...maybe its the club itself that lends itself to that behavior. Paloma's doesn't seem to have that issue, least not when I've been there.
I have to agree with qube managment on this as some one who has frequented alot of clubs there is a certain ediquette and understanding that a lot of males dont get here. I was at a club here just recently with a group of guys and my husband and me the only female so there was a lot of flirting going on but i know these guys and they know that there is a line that just can not be crossed so the flirting is all in the name of having a good time and everybody feels good about themselves. if i took this scenario out of qatar and into a club back home nobody would think anything of it and let us be as they know it doesnt mean im easy or looking for someone it just a group of friends having a good time and letting it all hang out. Put the scenario back here in qatar and unfortunatley it seems that i do give that impression and there for any male is allowd to come over and try to feel me up. thats what qube managment are talking about when they say these people dont know how to act it is the unwritten laws of the clubbing scene these people dont understand and it turns away the clientle these clubs are trying to attract.
Everything was fine untill u just cudnt help urself to not write..."Now, if you'd just spend some money" hehe...yea right...now a statement of this kind cud bring bout a smile...but not the opening of the thread...
Indeed everyone stares at the girls *babes* in the pubs...i mean they're made that way...for staring...i wudnt want to comment on what Ray wud do after starting the conversation though...LOL...
Ray...morning to u buddy...u look all heated and fired up in the morning...rather firing all cylinders i guess...
@ Canary: O well...sometimes a few statements...infact quite a few statements come down and boil upto Racism and inefficiency by the groups who feel some of the other groups are "unfit to be living in this country"...i wud want to enquire whether these people "Superior"really know where the MONEY in the World is right now...where the economy is heading...where the Big players in the markets are investing...
O well...statements continue...things go on...life's got to keep u on the edge...as someone else mentions in their signature...very very interesting...
I hope that answers his question then. :)
Btw, for tomorrow's get together. Expect traffic on all roads :
1. Thursday evening
2. Corniche would be closed in all likelyhood for the fireworks / acrobats display to celebrate Qatar's bid for Olympics 2016!
I hope to wrap up from the other place and get to Orion on time, espcially when roads to/from corniche are expected to be blocked.
its not just the Indians that do the staring at clubs..its ALL the guys..regardless of where they are from...And if they keep out all the "starers"..then the clubs would be empty...
You guys, rayyz, ksarat, r-7...I have to admit are the rare exception to the rule about guys who stare here..you always start up a conversation with everyone! I always look forward to seeing you at clubs. Now, if you'd just spend some money....hehehe..
I can see the word Indians atleast three times in his opening statement and even went upto the extent of saying its resembling a disco in Delhi. LOL.
If I don't take and offense to this then I wonder if I should until someone says something like, "Indians are friggin b@$%@rds!" or something like that.
Little does he know about discos in Delhi or anywhere in India for that matter. You should have probably checked out the kind of fun foreigners have in discotheques in these cities. I remember seeing Aussie cricket team the other day on TV. They went crazy partying in Bombay.
Vijay Mallya (owner of Kingfisher and now ex-Spykar F1 team), threw two parties on F1 circuit earlier this year, one in Monaco and can't remember where the other was, on his private cruise liner with DJ Aqeel playing. Both were reviewed as best parties organized for the year in the F1 calendar.
Now you know that Indians know how to party and spend. If you're looking for cheap crowd at cheap places, then you're probably gonna get them.
I just couldn't help but take an offense to the topic!
Good Morning Boys,
well if you look at all the wars and civil wars going on in the world just now in Africa, between India/Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, not to long ago Ireland, Russia, now the Turkish and the PKK, Israel - Palestine and wherever else I forgot to mention, you see when you look all around you there is war and they start from petty little discussion about who's tea cups are the best.
I thought QL was more about discussion than that of feuding and discriminting other races, we are a melting pot of nationalities, cultures, religons, and traditions - we can all learn from each other can't we.
Ok about Scotland................ lol
Hey there Ms. Fabulous girl, how u doin early morning up and raring on QL...indeed...a point to ponder about...sometimes the ppl posting threads on here...post it in a way to u know 1) Stir up the readers 2) Increase the number of posts on THEIR THREAD it cant be easier tahn Racism 3) Jus prove that they 're quite blind and obnoxiously crap...
Out on the road, every man for himself and ofcourse (womenfolk as well)...ppl busy in their lives, weekends get out have a drink or two (never stopped with two however)...and then sleep off fridays and get up to some events happenin across the country...its only online that these ppl wake up...and sort of vent their heart off...
Anyways away from all that...hows the morning lined up buddy...
Well said Canarybird...
It always happens on QL coz once in a while we get ppl who think they r so much better than every 1 else.. no matter what its about : driving, jobs, the way v speak etc...
Super statement reveals all. Clubs are not interested in racism they are interested in the money they can earn when the people are eating and drinking there.
There are too many people on QL with the "chip on their shoulder" about other races. Doha is a melting pot of races and they generally manage to life side by side without any problem why does it always happen on QL makes me wonder!!!!
Now that isnt a very good or a correct statement to even enquire about...u going to get a lot of these remarks today buddy...
Indians aint spending too much...hmmm...what kind of spending u talkin bout...i really dont think a person wud go to the Pub and sit for about 3 hrs with 1 beer in hand...come on dude...it wud taste like water after 30 mins...
Stare at girls, act in clubs...as Rayy already pointed out...i wonder from where u come from...it says Qatar...didnt know Qataris were allowed into Pubs...come on chap...get ur act right...open ur eyes...doesnt sound like u r enquiring sounds more like u have jus been mobbed by an Indian Mafia at Qube...and u r complainin they ran away with ur chicks...LOL...
Take it easy there buddy...it isnt a pleasant thing to be staring up at the largest Expat force in this country...
U shud actually as R7 mentioned check out other places...whether u have a majority of what kind of spenders...i m sure Indians are quite Spend-thrifts as they are...trust me...i can refer to a few ppl right up at this site i dont need to run far...Indians surely spend on the some of the finest things in the market...
Cheers...
Tht is such a lame statement to make ... U obviously have'nt checked out the crowd in most of the places here like the Pearl or Paloma or even cloud nine... where u do find a lot of Indians who spend a lot ........
Trust me all nationalities behave like real jerks with the ladies in any of d clubs .... The way some of u guys think is just lame if u have some problem being around Indians in clubs u either change ur attitude or u stop going out stop instead of whining like a little girl about it ....
Maybe u can start ur own club for all the people who think like u .. I don't even want to put the word up here ...
I didn't read JD being anti-Asian/anti-Indian. I just heard some questions and some reported conversations and a question as to whether these impressions/reports can be confirmed.
JD also took at least a day to post since the experience happened on Monday (according to the posting made on Wednesday).
Wow! Hold your horses mate. Whats with anti-indian campaign at 2.30 am in the morning! It seems some "Indian guy" really pissed you off at Qube. Where do you come from Mr. Superior?
The situation isn't as bad as it probably was projected to you. Qube management themselves is responsible for the state they're in ever since it was launched. They wanted cheap crowd with cheap bands and now thats what they've got. By cheap crowds I do not particular mean Indians or Asians, expect a white to come upto a single Filipino girl and try wooing her. We've had numerous cases of such sorts of things happening at the Qube.
As a matter of fact, my group of friends (and trust me its a BIG group), we do not even bother going to the Qube for the sloppy crowd that they get. I have no idea why are you a regular there.
Indians don't like to spend at bars??? I'd like you to check on that again.
Cheers!
