When was the last time you cried?

Name: Mohsen al-Suwadi, From: Qatar
The last time I cried was when I was a child, but now I cry only by my heart and not eyes.
I went through many difficult situations in my life like the death of my father.
The recent scenes from Gaza caused the bleeding of our hearts, but I would advise Arabs to be proud of these resisting heroes and not to shed any tears for them.
Arab men are not supposed to cry in order to tolerate every difficult situation solidly and to control feelings in order to confront difficult situations. I don’t say that one should not have feelings, but tears were not created for men.
For me, tears are a symbol of weakness and when the enemies of the nation see that we cry they would understand that it is a weakness.

True I have cried when I was a baby but now that I have grown up, have learned to control my emotions and so I don't cry. I rather like to see people happy and smiling including myself and all over the world.

my heart; there is no reason to shed your tears...if it is true, let everybody feel and see them your grievances.

I really find difficult to listen to NEWS showing us the bad and worst happened in the world by exploitation of human especially with children, women and old.

I don't understand how a NEWSREADER can tell us this stories without reflecting their personal emotions and controlling their own feelings.

Tell me one good reason to feel happy on this planet, when u see around everywhere is just bloodshed of innocent humanbeing! Further plans being made to kill more and more.....

when I see the world and beautiful nature, all of God's creation getting destroyed. When lots of innocent people are killed and yes tears were out from my eyes when I watched the photo of the mother dying in front of her son. The whole world has to get a lesson on how to tolerate each other or we will all die and there will be nobody left to cry for anybody. Make Love Not War!

Today, when I was remembering an ordeal I went through. it wasn't the ordeal itself, it was more an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my family and friends' support.

I also cry watching movies.

its society that keeps men from letting their emotions show...shame on that!!! I've only seen my husband cry twice..oops three times...last was when my father died.

I've tried to raise my sons with the idea that letting their emotions actually show when it felt right, but that's really difficult to balance in today's world. (course I was also the one who told them I didn't want to hear any crying or whining if they fell and no blood was showing anywhere...lol) I know that as a woman, I'd rather see a man cry when he was truly upset, than hold it in, because that way, i could help comfort them. Everyone needs to be able to be comforted when life gets too much to handle.

Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fortune to run into the ones I do,and the eyesight to tell the difference.

I let the tears flow freely when my Cuban Shot Putter waved goodbye..

It does more damage to keep the emotions bottled up!

its a sign of strength in men to cry. Too many times I've seen grown men try to hold back tears when their hearts are broken for whatever reason and then the hurt just sits inside their heart and mind and festers. Have enough courage to let the emotion go. Our Creator gave us the ability to cry for a reason.

Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fortune to run into the ones I do,and the eyesight to tell the difference.

but then it depends on what he's crying about... if he cries about silly and stupid thing, then that's a sign of weakness

The world is not a safe place to live.Whether it be Gaza, Islamabad, Mumbai etc.there is terror and its killing me from inside. My heart shed bloody tears for those innocent people who died in vain and left their mourning family behind.War is not the solution, killing is not the answer....still there is genocide, ....We are making our own private Jahannum. Its time to choose our own coffin and dig our own grave.

Mj , greentea you are right, but again its true that none wana cry infront of others.

if its weakness am weak, couldnt hold it while i watched a chnnel showin some downsyndrom kids last friday, cruelty i would say, but who s responsible, nature ? god?

Read somewhere there are tests which will confirm kids health on the third month of pregnancy, I think should make this mandatory.

is a way of cleansing emotions... it makes you feel better and light when you are able to let your emotions out by crying. Shedding tears as way of expressing emotion is not a sign of weakness, it's actually healthy.

agreed brit...for me, tears, definitely is not a symbol of weakness, but of being humans.. we all had our share of tearful moments after all...

I teared up when I saw the pictures of the suffering of the people and the injured children..

Perhaps crying is too strong a word, but emotions and a sense of helplessness certainly were there.
