hello all,

I have been in Qatar for almost 2 years now and lately i started a new hobby " Fishing" no I don’t use nets I just use the 5 meters fishing rode, but I was wondering do I need a license to fish or are there any specific places that I need a license to fish.
And the second thing whoever also goes fishing can you tell me good places where I can go fishing. Places that are clean and also one can swim and have a nice Friday with his wife. and please also can u advise me which time of the day is the best time for fishing and why? like more fish at a specific time, the heat, the sun, the water level... etc..
Note that I don’t have a 4 x 4 car>>

Thank you all,

Actually camel milk and meat taste real good.

Good eating experience at the carnivore restaurant in Kenya.

The best is of course from a boat, was out this morning with some colleagues - got some hamours, and a 110 cm barracuda.

Otherwise try fishing very early or very late when the fish are active. I was up near Al Khour last week, that was quite good, and there is asfalt all the way.

Do you use google earth??

- I took the blue pill and found myself alive i Qatar - wish I had taken the red and stayed in Europe

You just missed an excellent winter to fish.

Now you'll have to stick to very early mornings or late evenings to fish.

I guess as long as its not an industrial scale fishing you can fish just about anywhere. Note that you would do better to avoid crowd, so as not to get the hook tangled in someones nose or hair.

I too wonder how it would be to sit on a rock by the sea, wearing the straw hat, listening to mp3player, laying back & dozing off....seems like heaven.
