Where to get your Chinese fix in Doha on a budget
Craving cheap Chinese food on a weeknight has become inevitable. We all go through it, and mostly don’t even end up satisfying those cravings. So here are five options to get your Chinese fix from, and they are pocket friendly too.
Mainland china
While they aren’t exactly budget, they do have a great executive lunch option that serves a four-course meal. It is unlimited, and costs only QR 54.
The food tastes fantastic, although some of it might be categorized as “Indo-Chinese” food. Great ambience, decent prices especially if you go there for lunch, and possibly the best service you can find in Doha.
Three peppers
Located on Old Airport road, several loyal customers claim that it is the most authentic Chinese you can find in Doha. They are open until 1 am – so this makes perfect sense for a “late night craving.”
The ambience is nothing to write home about, but they do have generous portions, and are very reasonably priced. If you are looking for great value for money, this should definitely be an option.
Playstation cafeteria
Contrary to the name, they are not really just a cafeteria. They have fairly decent interiors, a good selection of chinese food, and definitely can be classified as one of Doha’s hidden gems.
Playstation’s prices are slightly higher than its budget counterparts, however, the food is great and a meal later, you will probably have nothing to complain about.
Ginger club
Ginger Club is located in Wathnan Mall, and this can be quite a drive if you are located in Doha. However, after eating here, you will find that the drive was well worth it because not only is the food great, the prices are very reasonable as well.
For a restaurant located in the food court of a mall, you will be surprised at how great their quality is. Definitely a must try to really satiate your Chinese craving.
Beijing House
Located in Barwa Village, which is not too far from either Doha or Wakra. It is a small restaurant with fairly decent interiors and great service.
Eating here might be advantageous because you will most likely never have parking problems, besides eating great food at good prices. It is not exactly cheap, but very similar to Playstation Cafeteria with regard to prices.
How many of these restaurants have you tried? Is there any Chinese place you like in particular?

Mainland China - Love the wanton clear soup chicken and the steamed dumplings both are must try. Try the Drums of Heaven chicken (spicy) was great, fried rice was not to my taste. Finally for the sweet tooth Sizzling Brownie with Walnuts is the best way to finish the meal. Priced moderately but the quality of food, very good ambiance and excellent service will definitely justify the price.
I usually go to the Ramada Car park but will give this a try too
