Why Doha Cinema/Gulf Cinema LIKE THIS???

santhosh20
By santhosh20

yesterday me and my wife went to see a movie in the Gulf Cinema ,, My God .. what has happened to the theater ,,, the whole theater is a real mess

1- Bad smell
2-most of the seats are broken
3-cloth of the seats are torn or very very dirty
4-there is food leftovers everywhere
5-chewing gum stuck everywhere....((( everywhere))
6-the screen is actually very dirty and u can see all the movies in a fade mode
7-there is a projector that shows warning about smoking and traffic speeding .... i think ........i heard only the sound and something moving on the screen
8-the movies first started without sound and the sound followed after a big BOOM!!
9-not at all clear and totally faded......
10-sound not at all clear
11- the ceiling of the theater is cracked and some parts are missing.....

actually this theater is here for the past 25 years .. without any change ,,
...most of the Indian Movies come here ..
and its always full house ...so its not the matter of money..

WHERE IS THE MUNICIPALITY ???

PLEASE any one who reads this can do something ....just visit the theater once and you will have more points than I have mentioned...

the below pic is just the beginning...

Santhosh of course you have to stand for other Indians, you can't sit down there because of the bed bugs.

If it was a place Qatari or Westerners visited do you think it would be in the same condition? Of course not it would be shut down by now.

Once I watched a movie standing in the corner due to bed bugs. My movie lover hubby does not take his car and goes and comes back walking if he goes to Gulf Cinema- all thanks to fear of taking bed bugs into the car.

hi mozaismyhero

i think you have a wrong understanding

yes i am a Indian and also

but i stand for other indians

and i am sure all are the same

but here its not abt indians or Americans

its abt all who watch a movie in that theaters.. and its not only indians

pakistanis and Nepalis and also a lot of other nationalities ...

so joins us to make good remarks rather than making other feel bad .....

No one cares about the Indians in Doha, least of all the Indian management there. Now if the place was frequented by locals or westerners you would see some action......

Friend, u brought to every1's notice what I have been thinking of posting from long time.....

Just because the theater is always full doesnt meant that the authorities overlook the safety and comfort of the middle class people..... the only reason indians go there is because these movies are not shown in any other theater..... I too appeal to all concerned authorities to have a "surprise" check tomorrow itself...... complete unhygenic theater......

...renovation...new management....

According to the OP the cinema is always full, so where is incentive to spend money on upgrades?

As long as people remain happy enough to keep buying tickets I can't see any reason to expect management to change anything.

most people here don't get the point ......

around 99% of most malayalam , hindi , Nepalese , Pakistanis and arabic movies comes here only rather than the big malls and city center..

and those who said its cheap ... NO FRIENDS ITS 25 riyals here and 30 riyals in mall cinema also

i was just concerned of the lots of people who go there and their life's in danger...some thing like VILLAGGIO ((FIRE )) MIGHT HAPPEN ....and in the end we all will say ...HMMM sad of what happened to the people in there....the authorities must have done something before......

you could have been concerned if one of your family members was there in VILLAGGIO...

the maintenance is improper ,, broken seats..no proper fire exits..

yes guys i forgot the tell the thing about bed bugs ...

I hope you have not gone with bed bugs on your cloths.

My very bad experience and carried bed bugs to my bed and finally I change my apartment.

Since that I stopped going to this halls.

Better spend more and go to the better place.

Reason why it is dirty because all the labor class from crowed camps and going to that palace and the cinema authorities are lease bother about the health of poor labors.

I request to the families not to go to such places and spoil your health.

Perhaps people go there for reasons other than watching a movie ..

I remember the days when we went there and threw our dresses straight into the washing machine the minute we came back-- for the fear of bed bugs..

Malayalam movie lovers do not have many other options...

yes you did a good job. to bring such public effected issue, one need not to be employed in Municipality

These cinema hall are the last resort of we middle class Indians , esp during weekends. Not only cinema but for programs also…..they are charging a good amount of money, in weekends all shows are house full. They can at least replace the broken chairs AND REPAINT THE HALLS.

that's because they don't bother... not many people go to the cinema in Qatar.... What's the point? The prices are very high, quality is very low (both the movies and the cinema), not to mention the censorship
