new_man......I do understand your feeling and whatyou going through now. I too have a baby boy, who has just celebrated his 11th month birthday. I have seen him three times during my home leave, and I missed him so much. But life goes on man.....they are the reason you are here.

So make the best of it. If you think that you are suffering and mising them, dun youthink that they dun???? When you feel lonely and when you feel sad, just tell youself........that the feeling you have inside is the feeling of the love you have for you family, and that they are the reason you are in Qatar.......and I betyou new_man .......you will start feeling good inside.

I gave you my views and what I know with regards to QLSG as a response to your topic.

Like what someone here told you, be PATIENT...but since you're decided not to join, it's still your call...

Cheers then...ciao

having 100 points and being a poster for 2 weeks is the basic qualifications/requirements to join the QLSG.

However, the group's management and administrators (which constitutes more than 1-3 people) have the rights and prerogative to select/approve/reject membership application.

This is for the purpose of weeding out some QL posters who may/might use the group as a dating source. As you know, Qatarliving.com is a multi-racial/nationality web forum and some scrupulous individuals do stupid things.

Screening the members or would be members are a must in any group. What is the use of having 195 members when you only got 50-60 members who are active?

You are right, you will not die if you're not a member of the QLSG, someone didn't miss any bonus for not joining or getting deleted from the group for non-attendance, knoxcollege believes that QLSG management is partial to women members (nonsense!).

So, ALL IS WELL is you guys, RIGHT?

I missed your constructive, destructive criticism for some time.

Anyways FYI I am not interested in starting a new membership club, as I dont have time begging the minority sex members to attend the gathering. Secondly I dont make friends with people whom I meet on the virtual world.

But PM I might meet you some day before I leave.

Pm why not we can start another Social Group for men only so we will not bother the ladies

most of us here are expats and stay alone far from thier family and friends and we want new life new friends

well knox college with all due respect, someone has to choose and as administrator darude is doing just that.new man its just that you are precisely what your name says you are...a new man...lol. so just be a little patient, continue posting on ql and once it is apparent that you are genuine, i am sure you will be allowed in. after all its  a social group.

the reason for all this is that there have been so many bad apples causing problems . thats why these precautions are being taken.

do it right - the first time!

By knoxcollege• 18 Apr 2008 15:19

You've guessed it right. I wont be going into details why you are right but by judging the posts on QL, you can easily see how starved some guys are for the company of the fairer sex. The problem is that there are many guys on QL who happen to be living a bachelor life in Qatar, some of them are married though but their better halves are in their homelands. Many of the guys here work in strictly male companies where they are only able to get a glimpse of the opposite sex in the form of a secretary. So for some of these having a female in their gathering or group is like having hit the JackPot.

Dont worry with time you'll get accepted into the QLSG and you will see the trend in the mixed gatherings.

Good Luck new_man
