Does anyone read books anymore?
In today's world, where the most part of our day is spent in front of some screen or another-be it, a laptop, mobile device or tablet-on social media, watching videos or working, we seem to have lost touch with the real world.
Most of our day is spent reading and replying to texts, e-mails and social media messages, so much so that the new generation has almost completely stopped reading-and by reading, I mean books.
People don't read enough nowadays, they don't stimulate their brain enough, and believe me, having grown up in a generation that thrived on reading books, I am disappointed.
The joy of plunging deep into the depths of a good read and emerging with more knowledge of the world, feelings and emotions, perhaps some that we didn't even know existed, is one that only someone who has lost themselves in a book can comprehend.
The knowledge that reading a good book will stimulate our mind to understand different perspectives and benefit our mental and physical health, is something that only an avid reader can understand.
The delight we feel when we turn the pages of a thoroughly gripping book and wonder what we would have done in a similar situation helps build our personality and character, and is something only someone who escapes into this world can grasp.

So, if you haven't read a book in a long time, want to take up reading now, or want your children to grow and develop in more ways than one, it's time to visit the 27th Doha International Book Fair at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center running up until December 10, 2016.
You can buy all kinds of books, in Arabic or English, for yourself and for your children, and read to your heart's content.
Dear Nabeela,
This is a great post. Kindly keep posting in this kind. I hope to visit the book fair with my family.
My son and daughter both are like reading. I am happy about it. Al hamdulillah
@molten metal: Bro you didnt tell me whats the meaning of Peon :) I only encounter this word in the game Warcraft :)
Tomorrow, You would say oh Nabeela is my OTHER account ? ...... and next you would say Shereen is your OTHER account ............ this series would never end my pal ........ if your heart is clear you will see the sun in the sky ............ when the fog of falsehood flies away ........... hopefully from 01.01.2017 ..............
MM: Are you saying that Britonie and you are not the same person ?
Brit, You & your followers have a phobia which can be cured in no time provided you see the things as it is than using your imagination ........ Please come out of the illusion from 01.01.2017 ...........
MM... isn't Britonie your other account ?
Hamza is perfectly right. ....... Agree with you ..................
Yes Brito, That's true. Even if it is on the weekends I appreciate your honest admittance ......... Atleast on 8 days of the each month you do it. ... That's wonderful for me..................
This is true people nowadays prefer visual aids rather than reading the entire article.
MM, Wow, Is that true that your friend improved from that condition ? I really praise you for such an achievement. So kind of you. I read on weekends but not possible during the week days.
And it's true. .............
Another fellow was taking sleeping pills , when introduced to the reading , she stopped taking the medicine from 1st night itself .................
My boss's wife & myself often exchange reading materials every weekend .........
.
Muad is a clever soul, I would say .........
Nabeela is perfectly right, I agree with her. .... but very few people have time to read although they spend much time in the gossip.
Reading is the best therapy.
We must all read something .. borrow a book from a neighbor or read a newspaper for free in a Baqala ..
How true. I remember the first time my Cuban Shotputter read to me excerpts from "History Will Absolve Me" - I was mesmerised and experienced feelings I hadn't felt before !!
