Why so much Air Supply?

I've been living in Doha for about 2 months. In that time, I've heard more Air Supply than in the previous 20 years put together.

I've heard them played on the PA at a store and at least two different restaurants in The Pearl, and just today at Geant Hypermarket. This can't just be coincidence. It's not 1982 - nobody likes Air Supply THAT much. So what gives? Do they have some kind of government approval that gains them bonus airplay or something? Is it because they played here live a few years back?
