I found a lesser nighthawk (or something strikingly similar) outside my window this afternoon. The bulbuls actually pointed him out by making such a ruckus! He sat calmly, ignoring them; they gave up and left. At nightfall, he flew around and then disappeared. Has anyone else seen a nighthawk here in Qatar before?

This bird was being trained by its owner in the middle of the desert where we camped on a desert trip some days back..[[wysiwyg_imageupload:5954:height=127,width=137]]

I was exercising at Aspire Park early this mornig. I noticed a group of wild ducks enjoying the lagoon there. It may have stayed long in that area as it seems tame and unaffected by passersby
