Hey people,

i recently applied for ADSL and they will come and install it in a few days,,

what do i need 2 do to get wirless internet?

Do i have to get a wirless router myself , or can the Q tel people provide that instead of their regular router that comes with instalation?

Combined wireless modem/routers should work out of the box.

Advantage is you just have 1 unit rather than 2.

All you need to know is your username and password.

Or you can buy a wireless access point and connect it to the Qtel Alcatel modem/router (which is a reasonable one).

Don't waste money on N series wifi, get G type.

You can buy them at Carrefour or Virgin. Or Sofitel if you are keen.

Got mine from Carrefour and it has worked well enough. When the engineer comes around for the installation, ask for the relevant PPOA/PPOE etc (can't remember off hand) so that you can set it up easily. Good luck.

How are you doing gentlemen? Long time no see e46 , was with hussam on the boat last Tuesday. You gotta buy the router, configure it, through Q-Tel router [those new are routers, but still old a friend of mine told me that they used those in the Philippines 6 years ago when he was working there as a telecommunication engineer]. That is it man and have fun.

You need to buy the router yourself and plug your ADSL line into it. Q-Tel just provides a modem.
