Wise words from STEVE JOBS

strawberry_shisha
By strawberry_shisha

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
- Steve Jacobs, CEO of Apple Computer and of Pixar Animation Studios

Exactly now the questions come what makes Humans strong to deal with such calamities. Some people will turn to their faith for strength others will turn to society around them and learn how to be strong and some may even look inside themselves for strength.

By FathimaH• 9 Oct 2011 07:41
FathimaH

More or less like what we believe that trials will continue to befall us until we meet our Lord. You will never find anyone in complete ease without any troubles.Everyone will taste adversities from time to time regardless of who you are and who your with. And many times we might find ourselves tested with our loved ones. What makes you better/worse is how you deal with the calamity. Do you wail and curse, and blame others or do you think to yourself "I can overcome this", be strong and do what it takes to assist yourself in getting over it.That is when you will realize that ultimately nobody in the heavens and earth can help you unless you help yourself. They can only try but its up to you to take action.

Having read your nice post, I remember having read some where-" Problems and pains are written in your fate - Dont curse the person who caused you, he is only the medium - curse your fate"[ Probably translation may not good - FatimaH correct it]

Finally all great people we remember today had the ambition to make the lives of their fellow human beings better that's why we remember them. Just imagine if prohet Muhammad or Jesus just lived for themselves we would not have two of the biggest religions in the world today! Great people change other people's life and small people only change their own!

By GodFather.• 8 Oct 2011 22:08

It's fine to live our lives to fulfil our ambitions but we should never become slaves to our desires that we don't see any thing beyond the tip of our nose!

Yes this is true as far as our duties go. But we must not feel like our life will end just because say our spouse/parents/children etc were to die or leave us for any other reason. Its more like love for Allah's sake,do your duties by others but don't make them your objects of worship where its in them alone you find happiness and the will to live. You know the kind of people who get all suicidal and depressed just because another didn't return their love and dedication..that's who I mean. And that's true wronging another is by far a greater sin than those deeds for yourself that you may neglect every now and then.PS: I ain't no scholar bro, just a layman like yourself and right now as far as your attitude to your loved ones go I can wholeheartdly say : Respect! Just wish more people had your kind of dedication and May God make those you love bring you happiness in this world and the next..Aamen!

By GodFather.• 8 Oct 2011 21:38
GodFather.

FathimaH I have learnt true happiness comes when you make the effort to make others people happy.Ok I am not a scholar like you in Islam but here are my few pennies worth. There are two duties to Muslim Hakooq Allah (duties to the creator) like praying and remembering him etc and then there are Hakooq Ul ibad (duties to his creation).Where as I believe that God (Allah) may forgive you if you missed a few prayers or few fasting days. But he will not forgive you for any ill deed you may have done to his creation. Only that person can forgive you.So coming back to what I am trying to say. For a Muslim there is no such thing as living for himself, he lives for others and obeys the creators instructions laid down to him through the testaments and religious teachings.

By FathimaH• 8 Oct 2011 21:25
FathimaH

Not live for yourself where you become selfish...its more like live in such a manner that you strike a balance between being selfish and self centered and being a doormat and selfless. Its more like don't go to any extremes in what you do and love and respect yourself along with loving and being dutiful to others.Make your own happiness and don't expect another humanbeing to be the one your whole life centers around. Because a human being is prone to change and if nothing else remains mortal. So live a life with no regrets and do what you must neither less nor more.

By GodFather.• 8 Oct 2011 21:05

FathimaH if we all lived for ourselves then the social cohesion and understanding will never take place. People who claim to live for themselves are nothing but selfish opportunist and I seen in my life these people do not go far.

If you're married thinking that's enough to provide good education for your child well it isn't not included the housing, food, electricity, water & other expenses so if coming here in Qatar is just for greed then you must be living in a country which gives you very high income... I my self don't need to be here... I'm still single my father is earning so much more compare to me but I'm not planning to count on them for the rest of my life even though it's my parents advice to work here for my future, I wont be staying too long... Obviously someone as usual is thinking that the world lives exactly and thinks exactly the same as few people in its abode... an advice to such sweeping statement makers...walk out of the house and see the world around in real, feel it to know how it works and how people behave and why they behave the way they behave...... making opinions based on gossips or the soap operas on tv arent the reality of life and the people....may be for you but doesnt apply across the spectrum.... oh and BTW some come here because there are no good jobs back home or this was the opportunity that knocked first and also need to discount the bachelors from the purview of greed as they have no families so to say as in context... how many remain now???.... get real, if possible, if I must say.

FYI... Earning more than what you expect due to the profession you've chosen is not greedy but it comes with the talent & service an individual can provide... Though I'm not yet there but you can call me greedy if that's what you call a person who wants to learn & enhance one's skill for the path that he choose... Just like with Mr Jobs it's not his fault that his passion comes with plenty of greens...

"just do ur udty to whoever matters" - I cant agree more. :) I believe in loving as much as I can esp.those who truly matters to me without forgetting to love myself in the process. I never tie my happiness to anybody, Im a firm believer that happiness is in me & I can either waste my time being lonely or be happy regardless of what others do,say & think. It's all in my hands. Plus, I love myself enough which made me not to trust others more than myself because I know what I want and it's me who knows who I am. :)

To achieve something follow what you really want, not what pleases others. We should all remember that to feel true happiness we must please ourselves. We can never expect a wonderful world without feeling wonderful internally & if u love & trust yourself enough then others can't hinder you.

And Hemlata, you are talking of only ONE country whereas the work force here comes from other nations too like Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Phillipines. to name just a few.

Working for our love ones is living our own life because when we love people they became a part of us. They are parts of our lives. Hemlata - Not everyone comes for greed of money and yes even though everyone from any particular country is not here there are many who are here for the sake of their families.

Yes i do agree your qualification does decide your job profile. And it is certainly wrong to say that just because you are a manual labor you cannot dream for a better life. Your statement is derogatory to the labor force and to people in general. That is certainly a very degrading statement.

You are wrong. People come here for greed of money. Population of India is 100 Million, not every one is here. They lead their life happily with their family with meager income. Your qualification decides your job profile. If you have no qualification, you are bound to be labor and can’t dream beyond that.

One cannot live someone else's life but many expats come here only for the sake of their families. We sacrifice our dreams for our families back home. Many of us, given a choice, wouldnt be here but this is the best option for a large number of us toiling here. And here I mean largely the manual labor work force without whose contribution the country would not be able to grow.

We need manual laborers and cleaning staff and such like and I am sure many would love to be in a better position but are unable to because of their responsibilities and committments back in their homeland. Sad but true.
