Words of Warning
The other day I posted a message to a response to a person who is new in Doha and from my home country. As a woman alone I warned her to be careful and adivised her on some of the social do's and donts. I offered her my personal email in case she needed a contact. Since doing so I have been harassed by some woman named Jeanette Chant, who seems to think somehow she can send abusive messages through Windows Live and harass me. I have reported her to the authorities and to Window's Live for abuse. I have gone back to my original post and am now unable to delete or edit my email address out the original thread. I dont know how to contact the moderator to do this for me. I am even thinking of deleting my account.
So here is another word of warning. Never put even an annonymous personal email on here as it can lead to all kinds of weird nut cases contacting you being abusive.
Begining to wonder is this QL is a good or bad thing.

never had this problem until the day after I posted my hotmail on QL, so somehow I dont think what your saying is correct. I never give out a phone number and only rarely give out my annonymous email.

If you post your email address on the internet then it's inevitible that you'll be spammed in some way. This is not the fault of QL. People set up "scrapers" which automatically collect email addresses from websites.
There is a 'Contact' link at the top of the page. That is what you should use to request your email address is removed from the post.
babydracula - if we all email "Jeanette Chant" then we will just be giving more email addresses for "her" to abuse.
Just hope she stops now, or I will have to infect her computer with a nasty virus hehe.

Never trust anybody except yourself.
It's not a QL issue, this "Jeanette Chant" is probably a software designed to send emails to thousands or millions of people. It got your email from the post that's accessible to everybody.
Next time, you can send it on a PM since it's only seen by you and the user you sent it to.
Dont try to take the burden of whole world in ur shoulders. So next time, dont try to be help any stranger individally even if its online.. as u neva no who really on the other end...

Send a private message to the user 'qatari' with the link to your orginal thread. and request him to delete it. He will remove it.
Its really sad isnt it. All kinds of nuts out there.
that's why it's always best not to put personal contact details in the main forum...
