Assalamvalekum Wa Rehmatullahi Wa Barkatahu.

Dear Friends, I am putting this topic for discussion because currently I am facing this problem.

I am a Muslim and I am born and bought up in Qatar. and I am also having work experience. but now the problem I am facing is with Veil.

By now I have given interview in for than 6 companies by now and the management also liked my interview but they come up with a point that my wearing of NIQAB/VEIL is hindering them to hire me. Now its time that I have got really upset on hearing this same reason. And now I want to bring this problem up in public as I a feel that there might be more people who will be facing the same problem.

If they have given this reason, then you should complain to the Ministry of Labour.

ss, next time if someone tells you this reason for not hiring you, try to get it from them in writing or witnessed by other people. I personally feel 99% you are lying. It's not such a clever trick though.

its not a good reason why they wont accept you.

its discrimination in your own land.

First of all,you are doing the right thing my sister,as those people who were supposed to have hired you should and ONLY have concentrated on you professional capabilities, educational qualifications and work experience,NOT at your niqab, obviously they had other motives as well,ALLAH knows best.

In the meantime, continue to apply for various companies and INSHAALLAH you will an opportunity to work with people who do not discriminate or are racist.

Agreed with Victory_278692...Covering Face is not a MUST in Islam. Its more like social & cultural rather religious.

Walekum Assalam Wa'Rahmatullâ hi Wa'Barakâtuh

'Niqab' (face cover) is not MUST for a muslim lady; you are in Qatar and I seriously doubt veil have any hindrance to any type of job you are seeking.

All the best :)

Not the right place to discuss this issue

Only bashing without any concrete resolution

By veil you mean you cover your face and only allow for your eyes to see right?
