Hi,
Today I will remind you with some colors names in Arabic.
Words:
Abyad = White
Aswad = Black
Ahmar = Red
Akhdar = Green
Azraq = Blue
Asfar = Yellow
Bortoqaly = Orange
Quiz
1- How can we say “The Sky’s color is blue” in Arabic? – plz use English letters –
2- What is the English Translation of “Laon al bortoqal bortoqaly”
Have a nice day :)
Thank you :)
Shukran Osama...for another day of learning...
Ure welcome.. am following ure usfull lessons.. its a great job wht ure doing. but i have an idea .. dnt give the answer fast let them try more and next day with new lesson give the previous day's answer ..
Simeitsa: abyad is used for male things (e.g. kalb abyad = white dog)
Baydaa2 is used for female things (e.g. warda bayda = white rose)
Why is it abyad and not baydaa2? Is it a grammatical issue? What is the rule?
emy: in fact i was planning to use "lawn" but then i thought that ppl will mix the pronunciation of the English version of the same word which means "grass" so i used laon as it is not existing in English and ppl has to pronounce it letter by letter.
Thnax again :)
thanx emy for the observations
laon al-sama azraq
coz "al" is used in the meaning of "the", in our example "blue" and not "the blue" so "azraq" and not "al azraq"
loan alasmaa al azraq
color of orange is orange
loan alsamaa al azraq
the color of orange is orange
i just guess...
Osama.. Instead of laon plz use "lawn" becoz it was even tough for me to understand the word..
